I think both parties realized they weren't really going to get that much out of the deal he's great for one offs but no need to keep him contracted. He's also never going to adhere to a lot of the WWE policies ex. dress code twitter code etc.

I'm going to go with this. The Rumble was a nice mark out moment, but what more was there to do. One offs are best for Nash at this stage in his life

He wanted one last run from what I remember. He's under a legends contract, so if WWE needs him at anytime, they can just call him

Because wwe isn't TNA thankfully so Nash wasn't ever a long term thing but just a short term fix to give him another little run.

Same with Mick Foley, Legends Contract so they appear when they want however Foley appears more than Nash because WWE tends to prefer Foley over Nash and the fans as well.

Nash pretty much just came back for the Rumble and that short stint feud which didn't work whatsoever.

His match with Triple H at TLC was a good way for him to go out seeing as it was better than it should have been. Him returning to do random matches with other top stars will probably lead more to lackluster performances instead of surprisingly good matches. WWE should be looking towards the future, anyways.

His name carries about as much weight as Bob Backlund's did in 1993, so it's fine for him to drop by every once in a while, but no one wants to see too much of him. He's still a believable opponent for most of today's main eventers, but not to the extent you would ever think he'd win the title, let alone get any serious support behind him.

Besides, Punk made him look like a straight up dork last time they exchanged words on air and Nash's out-dated schtick sticks out like a jack rabbit's ass. I think he was just there to help keep Triple H fresh leading into his rematch with Taker. It was relatively easy money for Nash, which Nash likes, and nothing too committal.

The length of Nash's run last year was perfect, it was all that was needed. I much prefer for stuff like this to be strictly short term because it often turns out to be well-planned and high quality, as opposed to long term stuff like Lesnar is doing where Creative has to convolute reasons for the person to stick around and be so prevalent on the show (Of course if Lesnar can consistently maintain my interest I won't have anything to complain about).

Nash is clearly not in the condition to work long term, especially given WWE's demanding schedule. So they kept Nash's stint brief and had him working mostly with the guy he knows the most personally and professionally to ensure they got the most out of it. And I think they did. Nash's run was about as successful as you could hope for and ended appropriately.

Nash and HHH are best mates and Nash had stated that he wanted to face HHH once more and go out like that. It was a good move on WWE's behalf but with wrestlers like Hogan and Foley who still want to keep going... They need to eventually retire.

But if Nash was to come back to WWE, I'd rather have him as a bodyguard/mouthpiece

He's still under a legends contract but WWE just don't have anything for him, I had no problem with seeing a CM Punk vs Kevin Nash feud and I don't understand all the hate for it. If Nash and Punk worked together, it wouldn't be too bad and the feud would be very interesting and I'd enjoy the promos. They can make it seem like there is legitimate heat between the two like they did last year.

Nash has pretty nice starpower to his name and I also enjoyed his match against HHH at TLC.

The Nash-Punk feud was very bafferling through and it was bad timing as coming off Punk's brilliant series with Cena, it was a big step down for him.

I agree with Andrew that Nash should only return in a bodyguard/enforcer role.

Shit was only a few exchanges, where Punk would just call him old gimmicks. Hardly would say, Punk got one up on him either.
