MMAScoops.com can report that Ken Shamrock was contacted recently by TNA Wrestling to tag with Rick Steiner against team 3D at the Slammiversary PPV this past June.

For those who remember, Shamrock won the NWA World Title on TNA's debut PPV back in June 2002 and had a short run with them during the weekly Wednesday night era.

Shamrock nearly accepted the deal according to MMAScoops.com sources.

Could this mean the main event star is wanting to return to TNA?

Your thoughts.......

Ken Shamrock vs Kurt Angle! Thats all that needs to be said.

But, Shamrock is old and I don't see him being in TNA for long, I would only use him for a few PPV's and give him a short term contract

Yea, I gotta agree, plus TNA has plenty on Main Eventers: Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Christan Cage, Sting, Rhino, possibly Chris Harris and James Storm Shamrock will most likeyly feud with Angle for a few months before being released. But I'd love to see Shamrock/Angle

I'm not sure about Angle vs Shamrock. This was a definite dream match while both guys were in their prime, but Shamrock has been out of wrestling for a while now, and Kurt Angle, though still great, is definitely not the wrestler he once was. If it did happen, it would probably end up being a disappointment, but I'm not completely down on the idea. If Shamrock is willing to get into shape, and work his ass off, I wouldn't mind seeing him return.

Shamrock against Joe would be nice, too.

Chris Harris vs Ken shamrock would be sweet. It would push Harris to an even bigger level and both of them have been in TNA at the beginning which would give it an interesting twist and maybe even involve AJ in this.
How about AJ vs Harris and Shamrock as guest ref?

I'd love to see him just for maybe a short stint after BFG to feud with Angle but i highly doubt it because TNA were just looking for anyone to cover the empty spot made by Scott Steiner being injured...

So the odds arn't good! IMO

This was revealed on TNA Today (I read in another report). Shamrock was contacted by TNA about the possibility of temaing with Rick Steiner to take on Team 3D. But he turned down the offer.

It is highly unlikely he is to return to TNA. If Angle/Shamrock were to happen, I would find it more likely to have in the Octagon (UFC/MMA) and not TNA.

^^^Yes i agree with 3lions. Watching Shamrock in UFC is definitely nicer to see than him in wrestling. Plus, Shamrock would expect to win, but putting him over would have to be at the expense of one of the uppercarders.

There are tons of dream matches that could happen if he signed to TNA but Ken will have to work for it. Ken isn't in the same shape he once was and as 3lions said Angle/Shamrock would have to be in an octagon.

Wasn't Kurt the same one gloating that he can beat the Iceman in the octagon?

I dont think he is going to sign since he turned down the first offer. Besides, TNA already has enough main eventers and I think they should just focus on the talent that they already have
