SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Veteran MMA fighter Ken Shamrock has tested positive for anabolic steroids, the California State Athletic Commission said Wednesday.

Shamrock, who last competed for WarGods on Feb. 13 in Fresno, Calif., tested positive for 19-Norandrosterone, 19-Noretiocholanolone and stanozolol.

The commission said Shamrock, who has the right to appeal, had been fined US$2,500 and suspended for a year, through Feb. 1, 2010.

Shamrock (27-13-2) defeated Ross (The Grizzly) Clifton via submission one minute into the WarGods fight. Prior to that he had lost eight of his last 10 bouts, dating back to August 2000. Six of those losses came in the first round.

Shamrock, 45, is a former pro wrestler and UFC Hall of Famer once known as ""The World's Most Dangerous Man." He competed in the UFC's very first event in 1993, but has not fought in the UFC since October 2006.

Shamrock was slated to fight Bobby Lashley in the main event of the MMA portion of a March 21 boxing/MMA pay-per-view event at Florida's Pensacola Civic Center. Both Lashley and Shamrock are graduates of the WWE.

@ Nation, think he had little chance of doing that.

Damn, wanted to see Shamrock kill Lashley....

Well, hopefully Lashley tests positive so we can see them fight in a steroid MMA Match.

Wonder if A-Rod will be in attendance....
