The Co main event of UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio features Ultimate Fighter winner Kelvin Gastelum making his fourth octagon appearance against Nicholas Musoke. But unfortunately for Gastelum, he won't be receiving his full earnings win or lose come fighter payout.

Gastelum (who won the Ultimate Fighter at 185) missed weight for his co main event by 2.5 pounds during the weigh in, he was given an additional 2 and a half hours to cut to 171 but failed to do so. As a result, he will now forefit 20% of his fighter purse to Musoka and likely won't go anywhere in the welterweight rankings.

For the infraction, Gastelum tweeted:
Kevlin Gastelum (@KelvinGastelum) said:
Weight was low this week. Cutting process went wrong but still no excuse. I apologize 2 every1 Nico And @ufc I'm extremely disappointed

Gastelum won the Ultimate Fighter 19 as a member of Chael Sonnen team at middleweight, becoming the youngest fighter to win the competition to date. After which, he dropped to the UFC's welterweight division and has enjoyed success defeating Brian Melancon by submission and Rick Story in a narrow split decision.

He is a really big welterweight but I believe that's beneficial. I don't believe he should move up to 185 but he should definitely lay off the tacos... LOL.

Btw I love Kelvin Gastelum, he's an inspiration to young fighters like myself and although I don't like his style. Winning the Ultimate Fighter at 21 is pretty damned impressive.
