Kate Upton Prom Date Proposer Is 'All in With Upton'

While the prom — that final dance before baby-stepping into adulthood — is important, perhaps nothing is more carefully scrutinized than how you ask someone to the big dance. The more dramatically romantic and over-the-top, the better. If you really want to raise the stakes, pull out all the stops by asking someone who is completely out of your league. Someone like Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton.

In a YouTube video, aptly titled "Kate Upton, Will You Go To Prom With Me?," Jake Davidson takes on the challenge. In the clip, the high school student weaves important facts about himself ("I'm Jewish") with self-deprecating humor ("I'm 5'-9" on a really good day") and heaps of praise for Upton, ("That cat daddy video would've won an Oscar for best short film") he asks her to be his prom date on May 23. Davidson also insists that they have a lot in common, "We have our commonalities...you're on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I read Sports Illustrated."

The craziest part, however, was yet to come. Upton responded a few days later on Twitter and, while she didn't say yes, she didn't say no. In fact, Wednesday afternoon, she told Mashable she hopes it will work out.
