A middleweight match up between Karl Amoussou and Sam Alvey is reportedly set for Bellator 45. MMAJunkie broke the news on Tuesday and cited sources close to the show. The fourth-season event takes place on May 21 at L’Auberge du Lac Casino and Resort in Lake Charles, La.
The event will feature the finale of the season-four featherweight tournament, which pits Patricio Freire against Daniel Straus. The main card will air live on MTV2.
In 2010, Amoussou went 0-1-1. He dropped a decision to Kazuhiro Nakamura at Dream 15 and fought to a technical draw against Trevor Prangley after an accidental eye poke in Strikeforce. Over the course of his career, Amoussou has defeated Mike Dolce and John Doyle.
The Wisconsin-based Alvey will bring a 14-2 record into the Bellator cage. He is currently riding a three-fight winning streak. In his last fight, he defeated Elite XC veteran Jason Guida via split decision.
