Justin Gaethje signs new five-fight deal with World Series of Fighting
World Series of Fighting has signed one of its brightest prospects to a long-term deal, as lightweight title contender Justin Gaethje (10-0) has signed a new five-fight contract.
WSOF President Ray Sefo today confirmed the new deal with MMAjunkie.
Geathje headlines next month’s World Series of Fighting 8 event, where he faces Gesias “JZ†Cavalcante for the promotion’s inaugural 155-pound title.
Gaethje is an undefeated 25-year-old contender who made his professional debut in August 2011 and has quickly earned 10 straight wins to open his career. Nine of those wins been earned through a finish, including eight knockouts and one submission.
Gaethje has fought in three of World Series of Fighting’s six events to date, making his debut at March’s WSOF 3 event and earning a first-round TKO win by way of cut over Cavalcante. He’s since followed up with a brutal TKO by way of leg kicks over Brian Cobb and a dominating knockout win over Dan Lauzon in October.
Gaethje currently trains at Colorado’s Grudge Training Center.
WSOF 8 takes place Jan. 18 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
