I was watching the Four Way Tag Match and I was wondering. Does anyone else here think that JTG could be a tremendous singles competitor?

I was reading what people had to say on the spoilers section when he said he's aiming for the intercontinental title for 2010, but I'm wondering, who here thinks he has that potential?

I for one say yes, he has charisma and the fans on his side, plus his finisher can be hit out of nowhere and it's believable as a whiplash quick pin type finisher.

Your thoughts?

Tremendous is a bit far. I'd definitely like to see him out on his own, as it's quite clear he's the talented one of the tag team. No idea how he'd perform outside of the tag team he's been stuck in for so long, but it would be interesting nonetheless.

The fans are on his side which is always a big plus, but the question is whether he can sustain the support from the tag team into his singles career.

I wouldn't say Tremendous is going far. Well then again, the only credible proof you got of him being a great singles wrestler is his match against Jericho, but everything Jericho touches turns to gold.

I do like JTG's work in the ring but anything above mid card status with this gimmick is out of the question. I do see him or possibly even Shad having success out of a tag team with a different gimmick. As for actual ideas, I don't have really anything original for either of them. I guess time will tell to see if they let them separate or finally get some tag gold.

That's why I'm kind of skeptical. We've seen him perform well in tag team matches, but the juries still out on whether he can transfer that into singles competition.

Good midcarder. Can't see him as anything else. Maybe a less stereotypical and racism encouraging gimmick would help >_>.

He has a good finisher and good enough ring skills to make a solid face midcarder. I always saw Shad as dragging JTG down and if the team broke up it wouldn't surprise me to see JTG as a midcard champ in the future.

He would need a gimmick change, but hell yeah, he's good on the mic, over and great in the ring.

honestly no JTG will never be a good singles competator as long as there is no cruiserwieght division. he will be easily overshadowed by all the heavyweights

I think he is pretty good and he is wasted in a team with Shad TBH. But as the post above has said he will get lost in the mid card drowning pool. I wouldn't say he is a cruiser weight though, He is no heavyweight i know, But i think he could hang with guys that are pretty big. But there is just too many good mid card starts that it would be hard for him to shine. IMO he has the potential to be a good singles competitor just to many other good/great mid card stars in his way.

Cryme Tyme is underrated. They get the crowd going better than 90% of the people on the roster. I can't believe they were laid off for a while.

JTG as a single's ya I can see it. Shad could be a great dominant heel. But I'd say keep this great formula together.

Without his gimmick (and he'd need to ditch it if he ever wants to move beyond US Champ), I'm not sure how long he'd last. Kofi's popularity tanked pretty hard when he stopped being Jamaican imo, and I think the same thing would happen to JTG.

As most peeps have agreed, I could see a decent mid-card run in JTG.

Shad can just GTFO.
