Josh Samman vs. Caio Magalhaes added to UFC on FOX 11 in Orlando
The UFC’s return to Florida has had a busy week, and now adds a middleweight bout to its growing lineup.
Josh Samman (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will take on Caio Magalhaes (7-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at UFC on FOX 11 in April. UFC officials announced the new fight booking on Thursday afternoon.
UFC on FOX 11 is set for April 19 at Amway Center in Orlando. It will be the UFC’s first visit to the city. The main card will air on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Samman, who fought on Season 17 of “The Ultimate Fighter†in 2013, made his official UFC debut at the TUF 17 Finale this past April and stopped castmate Kevin Casey with a second-round TKO. That ran his winning streak to two after a loss at Bellator 46 in June 2011. Overall, the Miami-based fighter he’s won seven of his past eight bouts.
Magalhaes droped his UFC debut in June 2012 – in Florida, coincidentally – but rebounded with a submission win over Karlos Vemola this past June in Brazil. In December, he picked up a unanimous decision over Nick Ring at UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia. The Brazilian will be looking for his third straight UFC win.
