Josh Burkman vs. Tyler Stinson added to WSOF 9 main card
A welterweight matchup between Josh Burkman (26-10) and Tyler Stinson (27-9) is the latest addition to the World Series of Fighting 9 lineup.
MMAjunkie today confirmed the booking with World Series of Fighting officials following an initial report by MMAFighting.com.
“World Series of Fighting 9: Carl vs. Palhares†takes place March 29 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network following prelims that will stream on MMAjunkie. The card features a main-event welterweight title fight between champion Steve Carl and former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares.
Burkman returns to action after a failed attempt to claim World Series of Fighting’s inaugural welterweight belt, falling victim to a fourth-round submission against Steve Carl. The result snapped an impressive five-fight winning streak that included three wins under the World Series of Fighting banner.
Meanwhile, Stinson debuted for the promotion in January, earning a hard-fought TKO win over Valdir Araujo. The 28-year-old Stinson now owns a four-fight winning streak.
With the additions, the World Series of Fighting 9 card now includes:
Steve Carl vs. Rousimar Palhares – for welterweight title
Marlon Moraes vs. Josh Rettinghouse – for inaugural bantamweight title
Josh Burkman vs. Tyler Stinson
Ozzy Dugulubgov vs. Johnny Nunez
