It's not exactly a surprise, but Josh Barnett has officially been licensed for the Strikeforce Grand Prix Semi-Finals. The event is September 10 in Cincinnati. From the Wrestling Observer:

Josh Barnett passed his steroid test and has been licensed for the 9/10 show in Cincinnati to face Sergei Kharitonov, so that hurdle is passed. They wouldn't have booked the show in Ohio if they didn't know the commission was willing to license him, but they still required him to at least pass a steroid test.

As stated, this was expected. But given Barnett's history of positive steroid tests and suspensions it's still worth noting when he does get his license that it won't be a last minute problem.

Josh currently sits at anywhere from a -260 to -280 favorite over Kharitonov and is likely the favorite to win the entire tournament with the recent release for Alistair Overeem from his Strikeforce contract.
