Jose Aldo is number 2 on the UFC official pound for pound rankings, as he is currently no less than the top fighter in the lower divisions. It's reasons like this that must make him wonder as to why he's not being paid more money to put on the fights that everybody loves to watch. After all, engaging in wars with people like Frankie Edgar and Mark Hominick must be exhausting.

Aldo is currently set to defend his title against Chad Mendes for the second time in the UFC, and was down in LA to promote the fight this weekend. It was then that he took some time to discuss his most recent rut of not being paid enough

Jose Aldo said:
I'm not entirely happy with the current pay policy. We work very hard for what we do, and not only me, but every single fighter in the UFC would like to be better compensated for all the work and all the effort we put into every fight.

Since crossing over from WEC where he defeated Mike Brown to win the promotion's. He's defended his title against Urijah Faber and Manny Gamburyan. When the WEC merged with the UFC, he became the first and to-date only UFC featherweight champion. Defeating Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, Mendes, Frankie Edgar, The Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung, and Ricardo Lamas most recently. Since winning the belt from Brown, he's made a total of 8 straight title defenses.

UFC 176: Aldo vs Mendes 2 takes place live on August 2 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

I'm really not suprised by this, after all, who isn't bitching about fighter pay now-a-days.
