Aldo's coach and manager, Andre Pederneiras, confirmed early reports that the champion suffered an injury with MMAFighting.com.

"He broke his foot two minutes into the fight. The first kick he threw landed on (Jung's) knee," Pederneiras said. "He'll probably take a medical suspension for the next two or three months. It's up to the doctors now."

The division has been placed in several holding patterns due to either Aldo suffering an injury or his scheduled opponent. He is also looking into a move to lightweight for his next fight.
