According to a Brazilian report, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will meet in January at UFC 156.
The two were expected to collide earlier this month, but an injury knocked Aldo out of the bout. "Scarface" has not fought since January, defeating Chad Mendes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Edgar decided to move down to featherweight after failing to take back the UFC lightweight title from Benson Henderson. "The Answer" agreed to meet Aldo after a training injury knocked Erik Koch out of the planned main event.

No surprise here, UFC 156 is going to be in Brazil as well. This is also the first time Aldo will be in action in about a year due to all of his injuries.

Been waiting for this fight. This will be a real nice fight when it finally happens. Aldo's kicks will be able to finish off Edgar.

This fight was made official today, only thing is UFC 156 is now going to be in Vegas rather than Brazil. It's going to be the Superbowl weekend show in February.

So far on this card there's Aldo vs. Edgar, Shad-Little Nog and they're pushing for Nick Diaz vs. Koscheck as well.
