Jon Jones famously fought an astonishing four times in 2011, against a murderer's row of Lyoto, Rampage Jackson, Shogun Rua, and Ryan Bader. When his title defense against Dan Henderson was announced, UFC 149 on July 28 was floated as a possibility. The date falls three months to the day from his successful title defense against Rashad Evans, but manager Malki Kawa says the date is a little too soon.

"He will not be fighting in July," Kawa said. "It's just probably a little too soon. There's been no timetable yet but July probably isn't going to happen."

"Jon's going to take a little time to himself, and then he'll get back into it."

An August or September return is much more likely. Judging from the schedule, September seems like a more logical fit, since August's 11 UFC 150 card will probably host the lightweight title rematch between Ben Henderson and Frank Edgar. The UFC rarely puts two championship fights on one card.

Meanwhile, a September 22 show has already been announced for Toronto's Air Canada Centre. That event has no announced or rumored fights.

Really don't want this fight on UFC 150, it would be a great card but I want Bendo/Edgar II to headline that show.

I know I said it before... but that would be the best time... summer for Jones to fight again so he can have some time off and all that jazz. Just be interesting to see what card it wins up being on.

As long as it doesn't end up on the same card as Bendo-Edgar II I'll be happy, they really should have Jones vs. Hendo when they go back to The U.K.
