A “Game of Thrones” spinoff series based around Jon Snow is in early development at HBO, Variety has confirmed.

Kit Harington is attached to reprise his role as the fan-favorite hero in the live-action show, which would take place after the events of “Game of Thrones” — potentially opening up what many thought was an iron-clad ending to the wildly popular series.

In the final season of “Game of Thrones,” Snow realized his true identity and that he could be an heir to the Iron Throne. The series concluded with his exile from Westeros as he rides into the Haunted Forest with Ghost and the Wildlings to begin a new life.

Since the potential Jon Snow sequel series would take place after the final season of “Game of Thrones,” it’s possible that familiar characters — such as his half-siblings Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) — could show their faces.

HBO’s upcoming spinoff “House of the Dragon,” which is set 200 years before the original series, premieres on Aug. 21. Other “Game of Thrones” spinoffs in development include “Tales of Dunk and Egg,” “10,000 Ships,” “9 Voyages,” “Flea Bottom” and an animated series.

Harington was nominated for two Emmys, in supporting actor and lead actor in a drama series, during his time on “Game of Thrones.” After the series ended in 2019, Harington has starred in Marvel’s “Eternals” as Dane Whitman, appeared in an episode of Amazon’s “Modern Love” and headlined Shakespeare’s “Henry V” at the Donmar Warehouse in London.

HBO declined to comment on the matter. Representatives for Harington did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report news of the potential spinoff.

I could see this being great. I think it's fair to say Kit Harrington was one of the strongest actors in the show, and Jon Snow would be deserving of a spin-off series.

A Show involving Jon Snow breaking away from The Books that I've never had the pleasure to read sign me up. You can introduce so many more Characters while giving us a little bit of check up at times on the other Stark Children. Jon hopefully finds love in that Show and for it not to blow up in his Face please.

It'd be awesome if Maisie and Sophie came back. I loved Maisie Williams especially, and she has really come a long way as an actress since the show. I mean she was great as Arya already, so yeah it'd just be dope.

In a perfect World the last Season would of been broken into another Season but that didn't come to pass but I thought the last Season was pretty good. When I first started Game of Thrones they were in Season 5 or 6 so I used up a whole Summer get caught up and people are acting like they weren't any stinkers of Episodes and Concepts within the Series at times. Let me tell you I would go through Half the Season one day and finish the rest of the Episodes the next day but I did take breaks in between and I needed to being flooded with so much information. I still want to go back now with the that Show finished to go back and watch a Season and take my time with it and enjoy it even further than the last time around. Now someone buy me the Seasons on DVD and I'll love you long time.

Last season of GoT gave me the Cleganebowl...I don't care that the white king or cold King got murked in seconds after a pitchblack battle.....ummmm....I mean, I didn't care that the sibling fuckers were jobbed out off camera....wait....err....well, I didn't think that the crippled kid who did nothing the entire series somehow had "the most interesting story" because he could now act like someone taking mushrooms the first time....fuck.

OK I didn't like the last season.....but dragon queen going apeshit and burning a city down was justified, her old man was the Mad King and that chick who got her head cut off was really hot.
