On April 24, the world will apparently find out who Junior Dos Santos is fighting on May 26 for the world heavyweight championship - 4/26 is the date of Overeem's hearing before the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

However, April 23, Jon Jones fights for the World Lightheavyweight championship against Rashad Evans, and in an interview withPricklyPearStudios, Jones said he would entertain the thougght to stepping up and fighting Dos Santos.

"You know, it's hard to even say because of two factors," said Jones. "First, it would be disrespectful of me to just look past Rashad completely like, 'Oh, this fight's already done.' Rashad is going to be a huge test and I'm excited for this great challenge. And you know, honestly, it is something I would totally entertain.

"But at the same time, I have so much respect for Junior dos Santos. He's such a cool dude, you know what I mean? He's just such a cool dude. Fighting him is just like... Me and him, he treated me like his brother when we were in Brazil together. We did a lot of fun stuff in Brazil. He's just a cool dude.

"Challenging him out of nowhere would be hitting him upside the head like, 'Where did Jones come from? Why does Jones want to fight me?' I'm not saying he's scared of me, by any means, I'm sure he's not. If it was somebody else, I would definitely go for it. But it's Junior. I don't know."

I'd fancy Bones to school him, to be honest.

Not the biggest fan if JDS and think he's a sitting duck against a clever fighter. Just turns out he's fought knuckleheads who bomb forward at him and try and trade hands.

Reem would of kicked his ass, I'm 100% positive of that.

I agree, Doesn't seem likely though that he'll be able to take the fight though it's next Month

BUT It's only a matter of time before Jones cleans the Light Heavyweights out, Rashad, Hendo and Gustaffson are the only legit threats left there. He's been talking about moving to heavyweight for a while now, and i think it's only a matter of time before we see that happen.

If he somehow manages to beat Rashad within a round without sustaining any damage then Dana should have a good think about this. Otherwise the fights are too close together and it would harm UFC's fastest rising star in Jones if he fought JDS and lost. In the future he can move to heavyweight but he needs to completely clean out the division first.
