Jon Jones has recently signed on to face Alexander Gustafsson in a rematch from what many considered to be the greatest UFC Light Heavyweight title fight in history. Jones and Gustafsson slugged it out for 5 rounds with Jones coming out the victor with judges' score of 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46. Gustafsson originally left the building on his own power, where as Jones spent the night in the hospital.
But all the speculation will finally be put to halt, as Bones and Gussy will meet once again at UFC 178 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The same place where the first epic fight took place. And while Jones originally shot down the idea of fighting in Las Vegas, and Gussy's home country of Sweden, the fight is still on.
Jones recently took the time to speak with Ariel Helwani about the UFC's recent tactics that they used to get him to sign onto the rematch. It was certainly a method that he did not take too much liking to:
Regardless of the UFC's method, the final result is that Jones will indeed be fighting Gustafsson come September 27th at the ACC. And if the fight is anything like the last one, Jones is sure to be on his A game.
Since the blockbuster title fight that these two had, each have experienced success in their last two goings. Gustafsson recently handed Jimi Manuwa his first professional loss via TKO which earned him fight of the night honors, where as Jones successfully defended his title against Glover Teixeira in April with a shutout unanimous decision.
UFC 178 takes place on September 27, live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. I will be in attendance.

So it seems like Jones didn't agree with the methods but they certainly seemed to have worked! I'm so stoked to see this fight again!

Jon Jones said:I just kind of identified it with being a like strong-arm technique on their part, trying to get fans pushing for a fight and prematurely announcing a fight, It’s not that I haven’t signed a contract, I hadn’t even heard that date before. I thought it was unprofessional, I thought it was a bullying technique, bully style, I don’t know what it was. But it is what it is.

Jon Jones said:I think we are in a very healthy spot. We actually talked about being in contact more often and things like that. Instead of going through my managers to talk about things, we’ll have a more open line of communication. I’m really happy about that. I feel like we’re in a very open and honest place right now.
