According to the twitter page of ESPN's financial expert Michele Steele, John Cena was worth $106 million dollars in retail value in 2010. That right there is why he won't be going heel, folks. He is FAR too valuable to the company's bottom line to even mess with the formula.

!!!

I knew that John Cena made WWE a lot of money but I never expected it to be even close to $100 million in the space of one year. The report is right, there is no reason to turn him heel when he is making WWE that much money as a face.

As has been said before nobody works harder then Cena does while that is a huge amount I am not that suprised that he has earnt that much for the WWE the thing is though with those Cena Sucks shirt going well maybe they should do it if only short term just to freshen him up get him mad, put some edge on him that is what got guys like Austin and Rock over and what will get him over with the crowd as well.

Damn you as I was going to post it lol.

Vince would be stupid to turn him heel or just push him to the side for a long period of time after this rock stuff is over as he may be even more popular and must see for casuals

WWE screwed themselves then with the current storyline with Cena which is ultimately set up for him to turn heel eventually. Oh wait... Cena as a heel would make anybody a good face.

Cena won't turn. He will come close and then Rise Above Hate in that Mania match when cheating would guarantee him a sure win, and then in the process he will gain Rocks respect and a handshake to close the show.

And every parent, child fan, and so on will say he is a good guy, he did the right thing, be like him ... Then they will buy more of his stuff and he will be pushed back into the title scene fresh off a hot endorsement by the biggest transcendent name the business has ever produced

You are acting like Cena isn't winning at Mania.

Wow, that's a lot of money. Cena is WWE's biggest cash cow. How long is his contract? Orton is til 2019.

As much as I want Cena to turn heel, if he turns into a bad guy then he can no longer represent the company as their top guy outside of the WWE in interviews and what not. Some of Cena’s reputation and such with the Make-A-Wish foundation will really effect it with Cena as a bad guy. And what about the new attire he wears in respect to the armed forces, etc, the speeches Cena gives to them at the Tribute to the Troops shows and other shows, heels don't do those speeches.
WWE's crowd is a lot kids now/a PG audience, the majority of fans who purchase John Cena merchandise are mostly kids and women. You barely see men wearing those "Rise Above Hate" and bright colored T-Shirts. They wear CM Punk T-Shirts. WWE will start making less money and some of their ratings will drop, arenas will take longer than usual for seats to be filled.

The thing with young WWE fans is they never support heels, I know I didn't when I was a kid. I now prefer heels over faces.

Being the face of the company is easy when Cena makes you that in the process. It should be Punk he turns on.

But then if he turns on Punk and explains his reasons why, it will be kind of stupid and wouldn't it effect Punk a bit?

Having him turn on one of the biggest stars of all time, The Rock, at WrestleMania after their match by doing the handshake then a beat down would give him the biggest heat he could ever get.

This is after he beats Rocks at Mania. The next night on Raw he turns on Punk after he retained the WWE title and Cena confronts him with a new cocky attitude. This is easy booking months in advance.

That would work but don't WWE want to do CM Punk vs Chris Jericho for the Championship at Mania? So how would it work?

I think most of the guys on here can be better than the WWE writers. lol.

Wouldn't Jericho/Punk fall to the wayside if Cena turned heel?

Your 'retail worth' does not mean your earnings.

Cena didn't make $100m in a calendar year, I can guarantee you that.
