We haven't seen an Iron Man match in awhile, and when I think about it, I think the Cena/Punk feud is definitely deserving of one. I know that the two of them could put on a great one hour match. Does anyone think it would be great for their 'last' match in this series to be an Iron man match at Survivor Series? I know a match like HIAC is usually a feud ender, but I think given that iron man matches last an hour, it's plausible to go from even a brutal HIAC match to that.

Why not mix those two together? John Cena brings in ratings, the WWE Championship is the highest prize so it gets some ratings during the match that others don't, a Hell in a Cell match brings in even more, and seeing an iron man match for the first time in a long while will get some interest too, so John Cena vs CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell Iron Man match would be a very interesting situation.

It'd be nice to see, yes. I don't think their feud is ending at Hell in a Cell anyway.

That'd be reason to split them apart for me. You can get two different matches with two important stipulations and draw two different buyrates. Plus, I like the possibility of seeing a countout or a DQ in there somewhere.

With a feud like CM Punk and John Cena I can't see them having DQs or count outs if it was an iron man match, they didn't do it for Randy and Cena, so I don't see it happening with them if it were to happen, since most likely if it leads to this match then it'll be all out, and if one of them gets one win with that, I can hear CM Punk bringing it back up, and the feud would keep going.

Never watched the Orton/Cena one (definitely don't intend to), but I don't like the idea of a one hour match being a no DQ match. I can imagine that somewhere in there there'd be a countout (perhaps a double countout.) It makes the match feel maybe more realistic.

It was pretty interesting, and it gave Randy tons of heat since he tried to destroy Cena using the pyros, I just think a no DQ would be best too, because it could also give Punk more heat by doing crazy shit like that.

Ha Cena doesn't have enough moves for an ironman match. It would be 30 min brawl, 15 min rest. 15 min punk winning

No.. It would get boring, the other No DQ's at PPV's are awesome. But usually that's because there's aleast more than one good wrestler in the match. They should do what they did at WM. If It ends in draw he loses, which would make the match even more equal.. *shudder*

People harp on Cena's move set too much. Almost all of the top guys usually use the same set of moves (Bret Hart's used to be called The Five Moves Of Doom.) Ric Flair used to wrestle one hour matches all the time, and he had a limited move set himself. Cena could easily work a one hour match with Punk and maintain interest the entire sixty minutes.

Under normal circumstances, sure. But with the Cena/Orton Ironman match that shined through like a lighthouse in the fog, other than a few things with weapons, it really showed how he just didn't have the offensive repetoire to keep a 1-hour match interesting.

And the "SuperCena" booking didn't help, we all complain about the beatdown until he hulks up... there were too much of that in the Cena/Orton match. There were hope spots here and there, yeah, but it was just too much.

Anyway, Punk can probably find ways to the match more interesting than Orton did. If they did it there are reasons for optimism.

I could see this happening. As far as story telling in matches it'd be good, but as far as actual wrestling I'd rather see Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk.
