TNA's Jeff Jarrett told The Tennessean that NFL star Adam "Pacman" Jones will be performing as a professional wrestling, as first reported by PWInsider.com last week.

"He's looking forward to coming in and wrestling," Jarrett told the newspaper yesterday. "He wants to concentrate on the tag-team aspect of wrestling. … Absolutely, yes, he is going to get in the ring."

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who previously stated that Jones' NFL contract would not allow him to become a professional wrestler, was asked about Jones' official signing, responding, "I do not have a comment regarding Pacman."

Jarrett praised Jones' potential. "I am a third generation in this business, and the wrestling business is built literally on conflict and controversy and larger-than-life personalities. You are going to get to see a side of Pacman that you've never seen before. Wrestling is about larger-than-life personalities. Some guys have it, some guys don't. He is a guy that has it, and from a wrestling industry standpoint we will be promoting that."

Jones will debut in a taped segment on Thursday's edition of Impact on SpikeTV and will appear at this Sunday's Hard Justice PPV. He is tentatively scheduled to wrestle at the 9/9 No Surrender PPV in Orlando, Florida

Well, Ill tell you this, he look's very, VERY athletic, and is. I won't judge him until I see him in the ring though, but I do expect something from him with this. I hope it works out.

LOTS OF TNA NOTES & NEWS
by Mike Johnson @ 2:00:41 PM on 8/7/2007

TNA was the talk of the sports world yesterday with the Pacman Jones signing. I had more non-wrestling friends ask me what TNA was in the last 24 hours than I can ever recall. Like I wrote yesterday, the signing was done to raise awareness of the company and they will accomplish that easily. Whether that translates into something more, we will have to wait and see. Jones will be training under Jeff Jarrett and I believe Jerry Lynn, Chris Harris and James Storm, among others, in a ring TNA has set up at Jones' home. Jones didn't appear at a press conference TNA held yesterday in Nashville.

Thoughts on all of this.....?

Good for him bad for the NFL and people trying to set a good example for nfl players. Anyone NFL player that screws up will just say "I can go do other things like wrestling" or maybe go to another sport. Any NFL player is athletic, i actually wanna see what he can do.

this gives TNA a bad name... because they are basically saying that they will hire you no matter what crime you have done.

besides its not like he is going to do that much in the ratings or ppv buys.

Most media probably aren't going to be focusing on Jone's record, not with the He-Must-Not-Be-Named stuff going on. I mean, they are, but yeah. Never mind.

I like this. It sounds like he's taking this seriosuly. I thought he was just gonna jump in with no training, and expect instant success.

I like this. I can't wait to see how he does.

I think this is a good idea, and I'll like to see what he can do before I pass judgement on him.

Ya, when I first heard the news, I figured a good partner would be Ron Killings, but I think he just left, so I doubt he'll be back for that

Hopefully he will be good in the ring, but still, this doesn't solve any problems, let alone long term problems for TNA.
