Jim Cornette is no longer serving as the primary creative force in Ring of Honor, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. His duties will be assumed by Hunter Johnston (a/k/a Delirious), who had been working with Cornette on the creative side. Cornette will continue to work for the company behind the scenes.

I actually have been enjoying the Steen storyline and what Cornette has been doing lately, do you think this was the right move? What do you see happening to Steen's reign or ROH itself?

I do think it was the right move because other than Steen, ROH really wasn't doing so much right creatively. Talent was putting on great matches, but that had nothing to do with creative. I really wasn't caring so much for the MMA integration type stuff we were getting.

Cornette won't be on-screen either. They're going to explain his absence by saying Lethal attacked him backstage because he was irate at the fact his match with Steen went to a draw. I've given up on ROH to be honest. I've stopped watching the TV's and I could care less about the storylines anymore.

It did seem like the storylines had become a bit weaker in recent months and that they weren't at the level it used to be. Good to see that Cornette is still being used behind the scenes as I do think that he has plenty of knowledge that can be used by ROH. It all does seem a bit weak beneath the world title scene but hopefully they can fix that in the coming months.

If ROH can get bigger it will only be good for wrestling, good to have more companies challenging near the top to put more pressure on WWE to improve and to give more guys places to work that can pay a living wage.
