Chris Jericho appeared on the XM satellite radio half of the Opie and Anthony show heard from 6am - 9am on many terrestrial radio stations in the us and on XM Satellite radio from 9am - 11am every weekday. In the most cringe inducing appearances of Jericho’s Book media tour.
They talked about the book and Jericho told a few stories from "A Lion's Tale", Jericho’s new book. Jericho told a story about wrestling for New Japan in 1995 as Super Liger against Jushin “Thunder†Liger. Due to the unfamiliarity of wearing the mask, Jericho ended up having one of the more embarrassing matches in his career. Very funny story.
Jericho then told a story about being robbed in Mexico by some chick he was making out with in the backseat of car while her partner drove them farther into the desert, leaving Jericho penniless and alone.
They talk about the Jericho return to the WWE. Chris (of course) would not answer ether way but Opie and Anthony really busted his balls about returning. Jericho said he didn’t like the fact that the Internet ruins the surprise aspect of the business .
The interview went downhill from there. Chris started telling a story about doing the Christopher Reeve Hockey game. Comedian Jim Norton, who is the third member of the O&A show, made a tasteless yet funny Chris Reeve paraplegic joke, which pissed Jericho off. Jericho told Jim that it wasn’t funny, that Reeve was a friend of his and not to make fun of that.
They went back and forth for awhile arguing over whether it was funny or not. Opie then told Jim and the rest of the listeners the real reason Jericho was upset - Jericho’s mom is a paraplegic. Jim would not apologize because he said everything said in comedy is OK, but it just hit Jericho to close to home. Jericho agreed but was still pissed. They then tried to move on but never really could with Chris and Jim trading little jabs back and froth.
They went back to Jericho’s WWE return and started playing the Saveus.222 promo in the studio and started busting on Jericho some more. Opie asked Jericho again if he was denying coming back to WWE. Jericho said, "What’s the point? Everyone knows already." He then said when he finishes the book tour, "We’ll see." Opie said, "That’s a yes." Chris smiled and gave a nod.
There was much more, but without a doubt it was one of the funniest interviews I've heard from Jericho.
(Note: I don't get why WWE and Jericho are so upset when the save_us videos were purposely designed to hint Jericho's return. Were they expecting fans to not figure it out?)
