Well, on the 15th Anniversary of Raw, we finally saw the crowd back to cheering, chanting loudly and just getting into the action. HHH got popped at every appearence, hell, got reaction by just kissing his wife. HBK also got cheered, and RVD obtained the obvious crowd reaction. Hogan, altough I expected more, still was cheered and Mick Foley, Stone Cold and Taker blew the roof once again.

Heck, we even witness some reaction for Y2J. The only problem is that, it wasn't main event reaction. To me, this was the test for Y2J to see how over he really is. I mean, on the past shows, practically nobody got crowd reaction, minimal for HHH and HBK and even at Flair Country Naitch got a pretty low ovation.

But this past Raw, we went back to normal cheers. And Y2J just plain fail,he got cheered, but not amazingly cheered, not "I am main eventing Raw this Sunday" cheered. Is just something about his promos. He consumes them too fast and doesn't let the crowd connect with them. Too me, almost every face got more crowd pop than Y2J.

Thoughts?

Nice that Chris Jericho finally got a crowd reaction, it seemed that the guy is no better than a wet carrot, but the reason why he got a good reaction was that it was Raw's 15th Anniversary and the crowd was all hyped up because they were excited.

They knew that Hogan, Austin, Trish and Lita would be on the show and that there would be many cool things in the show, they cheered all night long and Chris was just a part of that night.
Even in the Hogan-Khali thing they shouted, and they didn't stop in the ladder match so it's not that Chris Jericho got the reaction and the loud ovation it was the Anniversary Show that got the reaction, lets just wait and see what happens in the up coming weeks.

I think once he's actually in the ring with Orton, he'll get cheered more than he has so far. Hell, the biggest pop he's gotten since coming back was when he managed to lock Orton in the Walls of Jericho.

If he makes the Walls of Jericho his finisher then he will get loud cheers everytime he steps inside the ring, drop the Codebreaker it doesn't look like a finishing move, and that's why it sucks. :bag:

I don't know why everyone is so down on the Codebreaker. It's quick and it's devastating. If used properly it could be as devastating a move as the RKO or even Stunner.

Jericho and the opponent standing on the top turnbuckle and Jericho pulling a Codebreaker. OUCH. :D

I love the fact that Jericho has returned. His new look cool, and him using the walls of Jericho again is golden. Im not too of a fan of the codebreaker but if he's using it, I could get used to it. The fans seem like they dont really care too much about Jericho, they want Cena back.

What that tells me is that the crowd hates Orton more than they like Jericho.

If this happens, all it proves is that Orton is doing his job as the number one face on Raw, getting the crowd behind the face.

Jericho is someone who, right now, does not have the crowd all that interested. He isn't seen as a legitimate threat to Orton's title.

Some of it may be the fact that a lot of the newer fans are wondering what the hell the guy from VH1 is doing wrestling and why is he in the main event.

He should have proven himslef before taking on Orton and ultimately losing. I mean, if there was any discussion of Jericho taking the belt it has ended after his lukewarm comeback.

Well I for one don't give a damn about the 8 year old fans. We've had over a year of Cena. It's about time WWE gave the fans with two-digit ages a reason to watch. The 8 year olds will learn to love Jericho just as we did when he debuted.

Actually Jericho was getting a VERY small reaction while interacting with bischoff. Which was a surprise because Bisch was getting some good heel heat. I agree Jericho is not getting the main event pops, which he should.

I've said it before and ill say it again. jericho has changed, and won't be the same again. The wwe has to figure something out with him, because they are paying a lot of money and really arent getting much value of him.

That's exactly what I said. Jericho had not been getting reaction, and on the Raw Anniversary, in which everybody got reacyion, even Marty Jannety on his HBK promo intermission, Jericho in his segment didn't get main event reaction, yes, he got some cheers and a pop when he punched Eric, but that's it.

i knew this was going to happen since i learned that he cut his hair...and his new look isn't helping at all. but still > orton, cena and batista combined << from a fan's point of view..not vince's eye$

Yea...Jericho just don't got the charisma he used to...When i se him i just get the feeling he's there just for the mony...Nothing else...I gave him a few months until he drops off and not drops to a lower card spot...but completely off the face of wrestling....

* sets it aside* Once again I have to agree with everyone. Even playing off of Eric Bischoff, one of the biggest heels ever, at the Anniversary show, where people cheered seeing Mae Young give birth to the hand again ( as if it wasn't enough the first time) he got almost no reaction. And I really did not like his little rhyming promo AT ALL. These are the reasons I think that he is not getting over:

-- First and foremost he came back as a face which even he admits, and I cannot stress enough, he has never been very good at.

-- He came back with a whole new look, a whole new set of moves, to a whole new audience. ( besides us die hard wrestling fans)

If he insisted on changing himself 360 degress, he should have done it gradually. The way it stands now, people don't see him as the star he once was. It's like he's starting over from scratch. You never see Triple H come back from an injury or hiatus and try to come back with the Hunter Hearst Helmsley gimmick, and then work his way back around to being The Game. You use what works, and I belive that by now it should be apparent to everyone in the WWE that this is not working. I think that as soon as Armageddon is over they need to switch him to a heel with all possible haste, because this is too much for even a die hard Jericho fan to take. Although TDK is right, I'd rather see Y2J then Cena anytime.

^^if you listen to his interview before his debut, he said that he always wanted to change his looks, catch phrases and style on general cuz its entertainment business. but sadly, he took that literally and changed everything. like you said, should've done it gradually.

I marked out when Jericho returned. Despite some people saying he wasn't as good as when he left.. Jericho is the shit now!
