We've been covering the story about Jeff Hardy's WWE contract status and the possibility of Jeff taking time off when it expires this summer. Jeff has turned down several of WWE's attempts to sign him to a new contract and the former WWE champion is said to be considering extended time away from the ring.

The latest is that Jeff has been giving the impression to friends that he will in fact re-sign with WWE before his contract expires this summer. While he is burned out with the hectic travel schedule, his willingness to walk away from WWE has given him negotiating leverage and he will likely ask for a reduced schedule, similar to the Undertaker's deal.

In related Hardy news, the former WWE Champion has had talks with MTV regarding a reality television series. Matt and Jeff currently produce the online video show "The Hardy Show" and the MTV series would likely tie into that.

Well, he better. I know some people don't like him, and I'm not his biggest fan (I do like him though), but it would be a massive loss if he left. Although I do find the idea of him, a guy whose still a 2nd tier main eventer, getting a schedule like Taker or HBK.

Jeff Hardy? Getting a schedule similar to HBK and Taker? Odd in my eyes. Although his body is more worn out from the things he did in his earlier career. I'd say change his style or tone it down (like Edge stated that he had to do) but Jeff gets over by his stunts. No stunts, no pop.

I'm not a big fan of Jeff, but this is good for WWE. Losing Jeff would have been a major loss. That along with the rumours of Kane and Tista retiring this year, and with HBK, Taker, Cena, Triple H, all taking time off. In Cena's case, just working a lighter schedule while filming his movie.

Wtf is "The Hardy Show"? Never ever heard of that, has anyone else?

Yeah. Most famous episode of that would be Matt going nuts on a cardboard cutout of Lita.

Reduce schedule, Fuck WWE giving him that. He is only 31 and how is he burned out(maybe he wasn't burned out when he was on drugs). 2008-2009 has pby been his most toned down schedule ever.

If i was wwe i wouldnt give him the reudce schedule. Only Wrestlers of the Status of HBK/Taker should get that, jeff Hardy isn't even in there league.
