Jeff Hardy has had a long history and battle with substances, leading to multiple arrests during his life.

In June 2022, Hardy was arrested on a felony DUI charge. The arrest report stated that Hardy could not complete any portion of the field sobriety tests the officers had him do, and that he blew a blood alcohol level of 0.291, well above Florida's legal limit of 0.08.

Hardy served just over 30 days in jail and took part in a court-mandated DUI program.

He returned to wrestling in April 2023.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show, Hardy was asked how long he's been sober.

"Three years, two days," said Hardy.

Fightful congratulates Hardy on his milestone.

Elsewhere during the interview, Jeff explained why he thinks things went wrong in AEW. You can find his full comments here.

Listening to 2025 Hardy’s interviews is genuinely fascinating. Matt is out working hard…doing the promotion…all the stuff you’d expect from these kinds of spots. He’s good at it…takes it seriously…puts over all the right things. And then Jeff is just so laid back and honest. He comes off like someone genuinely bummed that he missed out on so many big opportunities in so many places, openly takes responsibility for all of it, is grateful that people still love him and determined to make every moment in a ring he has left count.

Two vets who know how to do this pro wrestler thing in the media as well as anyone…with wildly different things on their mind right now.

it’s way more interesting that Hardy interviews in 2025 should be.

I’ve always felt bad for Jeff cuz he’s a great wrestler but demons can be hard to battle. I’m always glad when he’s in recovery mode but I hope he can hang on to it.
