Jeff Curran returning to action as a flyweight

Jeff Curran fought as lightweight, bantamweight and featherweight to just figure out those were the wrong weight classes. It might have taken 15 years, but Curran is ready to call flyweight home.

"At 35-years-old, it isn't easy to just change lifestyle and eating habits to venture into the unknown," said Curran to MMA Junkie. "But I am and I'm loving it. 125 [pounds] is where I belonged my whole career, I believe. I'm really little now."

He will make his flyweight debut for Extreme Challenge 227 against the 20-year-old Josh Killion.

It will mark fight number 50 for Curran, who is 33-15-1. Before joining the UFC he had short runs in PRIDE and Bellator. He did spend some time for the WEC and even earned a featherweight title shot once. He was released by the UFC following decision losses to Scott Jorgensen and Johnny Eduardo.

They meet May 3 out of Bettendorf, Iowa.

A very interesting matchup considering the 15 year age difference between the two. But I always like seeing the Currans do their thing, it's good to see good old Jeff back in action.
