Last night on TNA Impact, Jeff Jarrett returned to the Impact Zone to address the crowd. He gave a gracious, if not somewhat self-congratulatory, celebration interview for the progress of TNA and his role in it.

Hulk Hogan fired back that Jarrett was talking too much about himself and he didn't want to him reference "I, I, I" again. Hogan came across as having an attitude and perhaps raining on Jarrett's hard-earned parade. It wasn't supposed to come across that way.

Jarrett was supposed to come across as self-absorbed and even borderline delusional, but some of the ideas to get him there were edited out by various factions behind the scenes in recent days. Some insider references were removed and Jarrett himself may not have wanted some things that would have stung too much to be talked about, such as overpushing himself at the expense of others for years, which held the company back.

Because Jarrett came up short on some of the items he was supposed to say, he essentially didn't set the pin up properly for Hogan to knock down. So Hogan came across more heelish than intended.

There was recognition behind the scenes that the Hogan-Jarrett did not come across as the creative team originally envisioned and intended.

That segment really bombed last night. It confused the hell out of me. Jarrett getting some good pops and then Hogan (TNA's Savior) started coming down and trashing him. Now you got people thinking Hogan's a tweener, that he's flip flopping early. I say Hogan gives Double J a nasty spanking to teach him a lesson.

It's obvious Hogan will play a face most of the time while looking the other way while Bischoff and the NWO do their own thing. Eventually Hogan will be a full blown heel, probably at Lockdown.

I felt alot of that when the "thank you jeff" chants. Dixie was the only one selling it as a heelish promo. I though Hogan was out of line to say that after what Jeff said. I was confused

A couple of returns apparently can make you forget that

So basically one wrestler will be over on this side while his friends do all the dirty work. Now where have I seen that before?

Maybe JJ did screw up and big time or there was some confusion no doubt, but have you all ever considered that this was in fact an outcome they actually planned so that these story lines can then develop out of it all. I think TNA knows exactly what they are doing even if some things appear to be somewhat off which some of those things may be. Again, if you go back to the late 80's and 90's, this actually was the standard with wrestling and a good one as well when it came to anticipation + drama for storyline purposes.

Or maybe they messed up and you're grasping for straws. What would be the point of having Hogan shoot a heel promo, after just shooting a face promo, and then going on to act as a face the rest of the night. I know that Russo loves SHADEZ OF GREY~, but Hogan is smarter than that. The man is a face. Furthermore, why would they have Jarrett cut a sorta face, sorta heel promo when trying to be the juxtaposed authority figure to Hulk Hogan? Either TNA fucked up or they're fucking Blue. In this case, everybody seems to be giving them the benefit of the doubt that they just made a mistake, and hopefully it will be fixed next week.

All the TNA bandwagoners are. It wasn't a great show at all and everyone is acting like it was the second coming of the Attitude Era. It was poor man's WCW in the ECW arena.

Is anyone surprised that there is confusion after a TNA show?

See, this is how a majority of the show went. Not only this, Val didn't get a name, people didn't give two shits about Orlando Jordan ruining the Pope's awesomeness and so on. The show was a mess and people are trying to act like it was the saving grace of wrestling when nothing can be further from the truth. It was what it was, traditional messy TNA booking, with a killer main event and no exposure whatsoever for the young, unique talent that made TNA what it is. Hogan showed up. Good. Wasn't bad. Hardy showed up, but they fucked that shit up royally and people are talking like this is going to be the group to war with Vince, but not when they use the exposure brought by one man to feature old dudes no one cares about at the expense of those that made this company in the first place.

By the way, I found the angle rather insulting for Jeff Jarret. He's forced out of his company because of banging Kurt Angle's EX wife. And now he's stuck in an angle in which he's portrayed as a man who killed TNA and Dixie Carter's was its saving grace.

What the hell did I do?!

To be honest I could not remember who the hell he was. I knew I recognized his face and but I had no clue who he was until Tenay said his name. I'm glad they brought in Val Venis, but I couldn't care less about Jordan being brought in.

Just read a new report, apparently, Jeff didn't improvise or went off script. He said exactly what Hulk Hogan told him to say, and what Hogan was attempting to do was outface him, yet was surprised when he got booed.

Here it is:

Partial source: F4Wonline

- There were rumors that Jeff Jarrett went off-script at Monday's iMPACT with his in-ring promo but he did not. While Hulk Hogan was surprised by how everything went down, he did tell Jarrett to cut a babyface promo. Hogan's plan was to out-face him and then was shocked when he got boo'd.
