A middleweight bout between Jared Hamman (13-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) and Michael Kuiper (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been added to August's UFC 150 event.
Hamman's reps at Alchemist Management recently announced the fight, though UFC executives haven't made a formal announcement.
UFC 150 takes place Aug. 11 at Denver's Pepsi Center, and the main card airs on pay-per-view.
Hamman vs. Kuiper likely will be part of the prelims, which FX and Facebook are expected to carry.
Hamman fights for the first time since a December knockout loss to Constantinos Philippou at UFC 140. The Strikeforce and EliteXC vet, who first joined the UFC in 2009, has rotated between wins and losses in the promotion. Additional defeats have come to Alexander Gustafsson and Kyle Kingsbury while victories have come over Rodney Wallace and C.B. Dollaway. The Californian, who's shown a propensity for absorbing heavy damage, has picked up two "Fight of the Night" bonuses because of the style.
Hamman now meets 22-year-old Kuiper, a Dutch fighter who signed with the UFC after posting an 11-0 record with 10 stoppages (six knockouts) in his first two years of pro competition. However, in his promotional debut at UFC 143 back in February, he dropped a unanimous decision to Rafael Natal for his first career loss.
