James Thompson vs. Eric Prindle headlines now-complete Bellator 121 card

With the loss of a planned headliner between featherweight champion Pat Curran and Patricio Freire, the organization has turned to the heavyweights for the main event of its upcoming Bellator 121 card.

Bellator MMA officials recently announced the full fight card for the “Summer Seriesâ€￾ show, which features Eric Prindle (8-5 MMA, 3-4 BMMA) and James Thompson (19-14 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in the headliner.

Bellator 121 takes place June 6 at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. The main card airs on Spike TV following prelims on Spike.com.

Prindle, a two-time Bellator tournament competitor, looks to rebound from a recent 1-4 skid, which includes four straight losses under the Bellator banner. The former title challenger most recently suffered a TKO loss to Javy Ayala at Bellator 111.

He now takes on Thompson, who’s fought for organizations such as PRIDE, EliteXC, DREAM and World Victory Road/Sengoku. The 35-year-old English fighter makes his Bellator debut while on a five-fight unbeaten streak (4-0 with one no-contest) while defeating the likes of Bobby Lashley, Mariusz Pudzianowski and Bob Sapp.

In the co-headliner, former UFC and PRIDE fighter Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (14-12 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) makes his promotional debut and looks to rebound from a recent 2-4 skid when he meets Terry Davinney (10-6 MMA, 1-0 BMMA), an IFL vet who had won four straight fights before a recent submission defeat to Ray Lopez in February.

The main card also includes a pair of bouts from the opening round of the “Summer Seriesâ€￾ light heavyweight tournament: Austen Heidlage (6-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) vs. Philipe Lins (8-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) and Egidijus Valavicius (26-10 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) vs. Carlos Eduardo (11-3 MMA, 1-1 BMMA).
