• Jake Gyllenhaal (Enemy) is in early talks to star in Demolition, a Black List screenplay that Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club) plans to direct. Penned by Bryan Sipe, the story follows an investment banker dealing with the sudden death of his wife. But, another woman steps in when things seem most desperate. Gyllenhaal has a number of projects in post-production, including David O. Russell’s Nailed, Dan Gilroy’s L.A. noir Nightcrawler and Everest (Sept. 18, 2015). [Deadline]

• New Regency plans to develop the nonfiction book Marching Powder for Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave). He’d star as Thomas McFadden, a convicted drug trafficker who forms a bond with backpacker Rusty Young as they attempt to recount Thomas’s experience in San Pedro prison. [Deadline]

• Max Martini (Pacific Rim) is in talks to co-star with James Badge Dale in Legendary’s Spectral, which is described as “a supernatural Black Hawk Down.†[Variety]

I like the picks Jake is making. He really does a decent job and has come along way from his Bubble boy days.

Yeah, Gyllenhaal has been doing well for himself recently. Prisoners was incredible and I was surprised as how much I liked End of Watch. Really looking forward to seeing Enemy too.

And this one could be cool... but it would surely be better if it was a biopic of Ax and Smash :shifty:
