Just announced, at WAR OF THE WORLDS in New York City, the IWGP Tag Team Championships will be defended on American soil! We already knew that the IWGP Heavyweight Championship will be defended against “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin, but it has now been confirmed that the Tag Team Titles will also be on the line. The current IWGP Tag Team Champions are The Bullet Club, “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. Other Bullet Club members “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight and ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks will also be attending these colossal New Japan/ROH combined events.

“Machine Gun” Karl Anderson is well known to Ring of Honor fans for his multiple appearances in 2013. Anderson defeated “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin on a 2013 episode of ROH TV. Later in the year Anderson was defeated by Elgin in the World Title Tournament. Doc Gallows is well known for his time in WWE as a partner of former ROH World Champion CM Punk. Gallows will be making his ROH debut at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Anderson and Gallows became IWGP Tag Team Champions on January 4th of this year when they defeated the team of K.E.S. (Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer.) Who The Bullet Club will defend the IWGP Tag Team Championships against is still unknown at this time. Come back to rohwrestling.com TOMORROW as we can confirm that more matches for these huge events will be announced! Fans have been waiting for weeks to see who will face off at GLOBAL WARS and WAR OF THE WORLDS, and TOMORROW is finally the day to start finding out!

Gallows and Anderson, hm. Could put on a fun match with the likes of reDRagon, perhaps.

Oh, there are weight classes, yeah. Doc/Anderson vs Hanson and Rowe can be a great big man brawl then.
New Japan runs on weight classes yeah. The youngbucks are the current IWGP Jr heavyweight tag champs (and ROH tag champs) so a rematch there is more likely.

Moving up to heavyweight is relatively easy though, just a matter of mass.
