WrestleMania Is Wrestlemania 25 The Point They Started Getting Worse ?

Aside from The John Cena vs Rock mania (28) Can we say Wrestlemania as a whole has never been the same since 24 ?
I feel like since Wrestlemania 25 the ppv has gotten worse every year, like the hype, the card, everything has been crap. Like every year its like the show can't get any worse
They've been going downhill for awhile but we've never had a WM anywhere near as bad as this one looks. The people facing each other in the main events ain't even interacting with each other. They're using Shelton Benjamin and Dana Brooke to try and hype their headline matches. Who is booking this crap?

There were bad Wrestlemanias since the early ones... WM 2, 9, 11 for examples.

Yeah I would agree somewhat that WM hasn't been the same since 24.

In those days (1-24) you anticipated and and had certain interest in every match

Now you are only interested and anticipated in 1, 2, or 3 matches. You can really care less about the rest.

There are still some Good Mania Matches but they aren't as magical as they use to be.

I'm a believer that the only thing that matters is the main event. The undercard is just a nice thing to have.

Since Mania 25 we have had the following main events...

Undertaker vs Michaels... Amazing

Miz vs Cena... Shit

Rock vs Cena... Massive main event

Rock vs Cena 2...Still a massive main event

Bryan vs Batista vs Orton... Pretty big main event

Lesnar vs Roman.... Over delivered massively

Roman vs Triple H... Shit

Roman vs Taker.... Significant

Roman vs Lesnar... Shit

Its still big for me. Just too damn long.

You do bring a great point and I would add, it doesn't have to be in the main event. For example Wrestlemania 33 wasn't really all that great imo. Until you got the Hardy Boys coming back unexpected and winning the Raw tag titles. I mean there were some other great matches on the PPV and some other not so great but this moment made that Wrestlemania that much more exciting. I think that's the most important for a Wrestlemania in the modern era is to have that unexpected moment of glory. I could say the same for when Seth cashed in at WM31 or like you said when Brock beat the streak.

In theory, when promoting the biggest wrestling show of the year, the most important thing is booking a big massive box office main event. If wwe does that every year then Mania should still be the same. Whether it delivers or not is a different story

Maybe it's just being older - and starting my wrestling expedition with WM25 - but the last few Manias haven't felt the same to me either. There was the big bombastic announcement of the Rock at 27-29, the emotional main event of 26 and 30...

I think the Network-era shows are definitely less, because of a few things...

-Legends return at random shows. HBK at Crown Jewel. Undertaker at GRR. Angle at TLC. I really don't like seeing the legends waste my time or big PPV spots, but it feels so much less special.

-Toxic Reigns main events, 'nough said.

-The length of the show, because it makes sense for WWE to promote higher network watch time when talking to advertisers who don't know better. I hear WrestleMania after the last 3 and just remember that was like 25 hours of show combined or something crazy

-Saving big matchups for B-shows which makes total business sense, Mania sells itself but Charlotte vs Ronda was needed at Survivor Series

-It's WWE. COME WATCH UPCOMING PPV IT'S THE COOLEST GREATEST THING

When you think about it, another reason is because they build or center WrestleMania around 1 or 2 matches, other ones are like seasonings or sprinkles

The Matches that THEY(Vince & Writers) think that will be good. Some are Good and Some are not. Here are The Good and Bad ones

Here prime examples

WM 25 & 26 Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels

WM 28 The Rock vs John Cena, Undertaker vs Triple H

WM 29 The Rock vs John Cena, Undertaker vs CM Punk

WM 31 Triple H vs Sting, Taker vs Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar

WM 32 Undertaker vs Shane McMahon and Roman Reigns vs Triple H.

WM 33 Undertaker vs Roman Reigns, Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar

WM 34 John Cena vs Undertaker, Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar

and this year most likely at WM 35 they would center it around Kurt's last match and Batista vs Triple H. They never liked doing what they should which would be Centering it around Seth Rollins also

Now don't get me wrong there are some great Matches in that list. But if they're going to center Mania around just 1 or 2 Matches they ALL should be 5 Star Great Matches.
