So week after week on Smackdown we have seen out World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger open the show. So I was thinking last night watching Smackdown, is this good booking? Results aside is it a good decision to have you World Champion open your show? I really wasn't sure on this one, on one side it is a good strong opening to a show that gets the ball rolling but on the other hand Swagger is a first time champion and main eventer at the moment, he is not a solid main eventer yet so is it good to have him wrestle at the start of the show rather than in the main event match where your champ should be. So what is opinion on this, remember I am not asking about the results because we all know that is bad booking?

It's irrelevant when it comes to booking. It's neither here nor there in the scheme of creating good storylines that stimulate interest and put wrestlers over. Sorry.

^ Agreed, this is more an issue of show formatting than anything else. I think opening the show with your World Champion every week is dumb, but at the same time its not a big enough issue for me to rant on it. I think Swagger as champion is still a massive fail though, and I'm still counting down the days until he finally loses the belt.

I don't think it's bad at all. Hell, John Cena does it every week just about for the last 5 years. I think it called storybook booking or something like that. The idea is have something at the start of the show lead to something at the end. So Jack Swagger cuts a promo at the beginning, which then sets up for the main event later in the night. Not sure if this example that was the case, but it's perfectly logical to me. I think the WWE is doing great with Swagger so far as champ. Great on ECW, awful on Raw, very good on SD. I can see your point about a champ "Curtain jerking" but right now that is the thing to do with Swagger. They need on the camera a lot to get over and establish him as a top star. They gave him the ball and i feel like he is running with it.

On a side note. I love during the swagger promos they go to commercial. I find that hilirious for some reason.

At least Swagger is a NEW person to have held the title. I can't take another Edge or Randy Orton (even though they're on RAW) transitional championship.
