Is it AJ's turn?

Lots of people are pissed off about Sting winning the TNA World Heavyweight Title at Bound For Glory, and to be honest, I'm one of them. I think Sting should have put over Samoa Joe to make him look like a superstar. Instead, we saw "The Icon" win in the main event at Bound For Glory yet again, and it didn't feel as special as it would have, if Joe retained. Thats just my opinion, anyway, the point of this thread is this. Do you guys think that Sting winning the World Title at Bound For Glory is all a set up for an eventual AJ Styles' World Title run? If so, how long do you think we'll have to wait until we see AJ take the title from Sting?

Imo, I think AJ will end up beating Sting in the near future and he will become TNA World Champion for the first time in a while. I think it would have been better to see a Samoa Joe/AJ Styles feud, but thats just me. Sting/AJ could still be good, I'm sure AJ can do just as good a job as Joe can at carrying Sting to a great match

I pray to God that's what it is...the way AJ has been portrayed in all of 2008 is pretty pathetic, if he does get the title it should be for 8 months to a year, Joe and AJ can feud for a while and it could be a true classic.

I think they took it off of Samoa Joe at BFG because they believe in AJ more. They would rather have Sting put AJ over than Samoa Joe because Joe has been slipping as champ. I believe AJ can be a better champ than Samoa Joe anyday, plus he has a full fledged face run going. I love Styles and hope he wins it. That would bring TNA back to where it's supposed to be. AJ hasn't been champ since 2005, bought damn time ain't it?

^ How was Samoa Joe slipping? Did you see the match he put on with Sting at Bound For Glory? It was awesome! One of the best Sting matches in a while, Joe busted his ass as champion. Ratings will always be in the 1.0-1.1 range no matter what, so you can't blame him for that. Not to mention, Joe made the main event at Bound For Glory memorable by almost BREAKING HIS BACK when he took that sick bump from the luxury box.

Joe's title reign didn't need to end, especially when Sting is the one who took the title from him. If TNA wants AJ as champion, its simple, book AJ vs Joe

I agree Joe vs. Sting was one hell of a main event, better than I expected. However, besides his match with Angle at Lockdown where he won the title, he wasn't the champion most thought he would be. His matches on PPV were average, he didn't wrestle on iMPACT! more than 1-2 times a month, other superstars had way more air time than him every week. His rivalry with Booker T was pretty weak because Booker stole his belt. I would love to see AJ vs. Joe, but if TNA would do everything the proper way, face vs. heel, I would think Joe would have to turn heel. They won't do that though, so Joe can't get the title now. AJ has had much more of a crowd reaction and following than Joe the past couple months and TNA finally recognized that. AJ has had a brilliant feud with Angle, great matches, he has been busting his ass this whole time while Samoa Joe sort of busted his ass only at BFG.

I don't mean to piss you off Chess, I know you're a Joe Mark, but that's just the way I see it.

If TNA was intelligent they would use this as a golden opportunity to have Sting pass the torch to AJ. And not just pass the torch in a match involving 10 run ins and 4 chair and bat shots. I mean a one on one match with no outside interference, no bullshit finish, just wrestling.

^^^lol...Christian Cage. You will be lucky if he lasts until November in TNA let alone BFG of next year.

Although, he still has some gas in the tank, way more than Booker T or Sting. TNA stopped pushing Christian at the wrong time.

I sure hope thats what we are seeing because AJ Styles is my favorite wrestler in TNA..Has been from the start and will remain that way..

No matter if he is a face or a heel I'm a huge fan of his and if TNA puts the belt on AJ it would be epic and I would mark out like crazy with sigs and avy's and all that..

but knowing TNA...and I'm a TNA fan so I can say this...They will end up putting the belt on someone who does not deserve it that much or at all.

But hopefully TNA proves me wrong and give AJ the title.

Agree. Okay Joe is good but to be honest I'd not believed in him for months UNTIL BFG. He kicked ass at BFG and he was old Joe again. Before that, I dunno, just something wasn't sitting right for me and I think that Sting is PURELY a transitional champion.

I watched it, Sting talked about his match with Joe, AJ come out, said the same speech we have been hearing and they then brawl.
