As the contest for the Intercontinental Championship enters its 30th minute, the two men are both standing (standing is misleading, teetering is a much more appropriate term) on the ring apron, with Diamond, more metaphorically on the ropes, Dragon pulls out a desperate measure; a DDT onto the hardest part of the ring, the move lands, and almost instantly Diamond ragdolls, and the only thing that Dragon needs to do is get Diamond back into the ring….easier said than done.
Patrick Young: He’s just got to, somehow, manage to get all 270 pounds of the six foot seven Diamond back into the ring
Anthony Pederson: But you’ve gotta remember, Patrick that’s all dead weight, but LOOK at him, I don’t know how he's doing it, Young, but he’s lifted Diamond, he’s got him back in the ring! I don’t believe it!
Patrick Young: Believe it, Pederson, all he needs to do is cover Diamond and it’s all over……..
Dragon pins Diamond, but a failure to hook the leg could cost him a second or two…..

Suddenly, out of NOWHERE, a man dressed in all black, wearing a hoodie and black sweatpants...pulls the champion out of the ring, throws a STRAIGHT RIGHT, before sending him FLYING into the steel steps at ringside, then INTO THE BARRICADE, INTO THE OTHER STEEL STEPS, BOUNCES HIS HEAD OFF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE, AND THEN, finishes it off, with sending the champ head first into the steel ring post..…The assault on the champion isn’t over yet, as masked assailant picks up the champ, sending him back into the ring, but it appears the man is nowhere near done yet, as he follows the champion into the ring.
He begins to call for the champion to get back to his feet, but you can tell there’s not a lot left of him...he struggles for a second, but is then grabbed by the masked man, lifted up into a crucifix position, lifted, HIGH, into the air, before being sent crashing down back to the mask with a vicious powerbomb.
Patrick Young: We gotta get this guy out of here, he’s gonna end The Golden Dragon if somebody doesn’t stop him!
A stockpile of security run down to the ring, but by the time they arrive the masked man has already exited over the barricade, and is long gone by the time they realize where he went to.
Anthony Pederson: AND PATRICK LOOK, LOOK BACK IN THE RING, LOOK AT DIAMOND!
Diamond crawls into a cover, the referee looks ashamed as he counts the cover, but he does it regardless…..

Anthony Pederson: WE HAVE A NEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE HAVE A CHAMPION WE CAN ALL BE PROUD OF PATRICK!
Patrick Young: How can you be excited right now? You know that Will Neilson had SOMETHING to do with that attack, you know that he ordered that guy to come out here and ruin this match, ruin The Golden Dragon’s chances.

Joseph Diamond uses the ropes to pull himself out of the ring, without stopping to grab his title, Diamond almost leaves without it until the referee hands him the belt. I’m sure there's a long winded metaphor of the title being handed to Diamond but that’s for another time. Diamond holds the title high above his head for the first time since WrestleDynasty, it’s a familiar sight but Diamond sports an unfamiliar look on his face, for the first time, in a long time Joseph Diamond looks downright sinister.
