WWE.com has added an article detailing Edge's pectoral tear injury. Dr. James Andrews performed surgery on the superstar over the weekend and now it appears the injury is much worse than originally reported. Andrews said that once they opened Edge up they discovered that the tendon had completely torn off the bone and that the injury could have been career-threatening if it hadn't been correctly repaired.
The article leads us to believe that Edge will make a return in late 2007, but it will all depend on how he heals, his physical therapy, and the training time needed to return. Andrews would not give an exact date when Edge should be ready by said it normally takes 3-4 months once a patient is out of surgery.
