Reports have surface that during a conversation with Harley Race at a restaurant, Ric Flair said he rejected Vince McMahon’s offer of $250,000 to be the General Manager of Smackdown because he felt he could make more on the indy scene.

I don't blame him.

Smackdown is worse that impact half the time. Not something I'd be a part of.

Meh, I wouldn't have wanted to see him on there anyway.

I doubt he could make $250,000 in the Indies, even if he is Ric Flair. Although I agree that Smackdown = shit most of the time.

Uh, he could I reckon. Look at all the appearances he has made, all those autographs, the shoot interview, everything, he gets a bit of all that, so I don't doubt he could make more at all.

Well...thats good they are thinking about canning Vickie.

SD is a terrible show, but they still have wrestling. Last week was just a WM recap show.

As far as SD/Indy, 250,000 to be GM seems insulting. Thus, said why waste my time, when i can work select dates for anything he agree's to. He probably could make 250,000 in the indys selling autographs and merchadise.

But with the WWE, he gets revenue from merch sales too. 250k for one of the easiest jobs in the WWE? Are you kidding me?

we all remember flair being a 50/50 owner of WWE 2001/2002 and thats sucked badly..

i'm happy he declined, Flair has been the boss too many times in the past for WCW/WWE TV. (it never really worked for him)

but for him saying he could make more money in Indies.. (is a of out of context statement, as he could get sales for merchandise, plus his pay check, even maybe a role in a wwe film). Maybe he didn't wanna be working as much and being on the road all the time instead.

I don't blame him. If last friday was anything to go by, Smackdown isn't even a wrestling show anymore.

Last friday wasn't anything to go by. It was the last show before Mania, so it was basically to hype it up. I agree SD is pretty bad, but last week wasn't something they do all the time.
