Neil Peart could do things with drums, or really any percussion, that I would have never dreamed possible. Dude was soooo fucking talented, and to play the drums as long as he did at the high level that he did, it's truly unbelievable. John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ginger Baker... all phenomenal drummers, but can hardly hold a candle to the things that Neil was capable of doing. The drum part toward the end of Tom Sawyer is probably the only drum moment in rock history that is more iconic than In The Air Tonight. Incredible musician, incredible man. Thankfully we were blessed with over 40 years of his amazingness, and his legacy will live on for as long as people are hitting things with sticks for music. RIP Mr. Peart, and thank you for everything you contributed to music.
