World Title Series Breakdown

Introducing the final four groups:

- Group Tag Team Specialists: Matt Hardy, Eddie Edwards, Davey Richards, Robbie E

- Group X-Division: Tigre Uno, DJ Z, Mandrews, Manik

World Title Series: Group Tag Team Specialists | Davey Richards vs. Matt Hardy

Richards takes Hardy off his feet with a side Russian leg sweep and leg lock. He releases for a snap suplex. Hardy delivers a Side Effect on the apron and a series of leg drops to score a near-fall.

Hardy drops Richards with a neckbreaker. Using the middle rope, he delivers another neckbreaker and near-fall. Hardy drops an elbow to the skull and high knees to the mid-section; Richards answers with a backstabber.

Richards sends Hardy over the top rope. He connects with a suicide dive and rolls Hardy into the ring for a missile dropkick. Richards counters two Twists of Fate, the second with a backslide pin attempt. Hardy’s out and delivers a Side Effect.

Following another near-fall, Hardy stalks Richards for a Twist of Fate; Richards counters, sending Hardy into the corner. Hardy sends Richards from the turnbuckle and takes a dive; Richards catches him with a kick to the ribs and a big boot.

Richards plants him with a belly-to-belly suplex and motions for the Invader. Hardy answers with a Twist of Fate and the victory.

Result: Matt Hardy def. Davey Richards (Hardy: 3, Richards: 0)

World Title Series: Group Wildcard | Aiden O’Shea vs. Kenny King

O’Shea is on the offensive early, blasting King with a flurry of closed fists. His intensity is unmatched as he overpowers King.

King catches O’Shea with a sunset flip and pin attempt. O’Shea’s quick to escape, but caught with a crucifix pin. O’Shea powers out. He grabs King’s ear and drops him with hard right. King receives a back breaker. He’s quick to recover and to deliver a standing dropkick.

O’Shea charges; King side-steps and lifts a knee to the face. He springboards off the ropes with a neckbreaker to earn a pinfall victory.

Result: Kenny King def. Aiden O’Shea (Kenny King: 3, Aiden O’Shea: 0)

Backstage: Eric Young says he’s the original and that he’s controlled the World Title in 2015. Addressing Abyss, Young cites pulling back the mask to reveal the freak behind it – and that victory will be his.

Backstage: Davey Richards credits Matt Hardy for being the better man in their match.

World Title Series: Group TNA Originals | Eric Young vs. Abyss

Abyss moves for an instant chokeslam but Eric Young bites his hand. Abyss sends Young through the ropes; Young rakes his eyes and tries slamming “The Monster” face-first into the stairs.

Abyss counters and charges toward Young. He meets the ring post and catches a boot to the head for his effort. Young returns the action to the ring and uses the second rope for a choke.

Young comes off the ropes into a near-chokeslam. He counters, but Abyss answers with a Samoan drop. Abyss rallies back with a series of clotheslines and a back body drop. He connects with a chokeslam and near-fall!

Abyss pulls Janice from beneath the ring. Earl Hebner takes her away, creating the opening Young needs for a low blow. He follows up with a diving elbow and piledriver set-up. Abyss counters with the Black Hole Slam.

Result: Abyss def. Eric Young (Abyss: 3, Eric Young: 0)

Exclusive Interview with EC3

EC3 tells Josh Mathews that Bound For Glory was the biggest travesty in TNA history. Carter says he robbed of, not defeated for, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Carter says he chose to have the courts intervene because of the collusion between Dixie Carter and the Hardys to strip him of the title. He says the World Title Series is nice, but that it shouldn’t be happening and that he should still be the champion.

Finally, he adds the World Title Series won’t be over until he wins.

Backstage: Eric Young rants about his loss; Abyss puts the rest of the TNA Originals on notice.

World Title Series: Group Tag Team Specialists | Robbie E vs. Eddie Edwards

Robbie E and Eddie Edwards trade arm locks; Robbie E scores the first takedown with a shoulder block. Edwards storms back with an atomic drop, a shot to the knee and the Shining Wizard; Robbie’s out at one.

Edwards is sent into the ring post; Robbie E catches him with a senton from the apron. He rolls Edwards back into the ring and delivers a clothesline and a suplex to earn a two-count. He moves for a back body drop, but Edwards counters into a hurricanrana!

Robbie E’s sent through the ropes. Edwards misses with the baseball slide and both men connect with a clothesline. In the ring, Robbie E connects with a Boom Drop! Edwards just kicks out before three!

Edwards counters a neckbreaker, sending Robbie E heads up the turnbuckle. Edwards delivers the chin checker; Robbie just kicks out before three! Edwards rolls him into a single leg Boston crab. Robbie reverses and breaks the hold; Edwards answers with an enziguri!

Robbie counters a lift with an inverted DDT to pick up the surprise victory.

Result: Robbie E def. Eddie Edwards (Robbie E: 3, Eddie Edwards: 0)

Backstage: Bobby Roode says he has a lot of history with James Storm, from being an original to being one half of the greatest tag teams in history – Beer Money. Roode says it’ll come down to who wants it more, and it’s him.

Backstage: Robbie E says he thinks people forget that he’s a former two-time tag team and X-Division champion. He says he’s a great singles competitor and, “Here comes the boom!”

Backstage: Eddie Edwards says Robbie E surprised him tonight and proved he’s grown.

World Title Series: Group Wildcard | Crazzy Steve vs. Mahabali Shera

Shera powers through the antics of Crazzy Steve. Steve begins flying around the ring, catching Shera with an assortment of kicks and punches. A well-timed Sky High spells an early end for Crazzy Steve.

Result: Mahabali Shera def. Crazzy Steve (Mahabali Shera: 3, Crazzy Steve: 0)

World Title Series: Group TNA Originals | James Storm vs. Bobby Roode

Roode takes Storm down with a clothesline; Storm rolls under the ropes to the outside. Storm’s in the ring with a headlock on Roode. He powers Roode to the mat with a shoulder block; Roode catches him with a dropkick. Storm retreats to the outside again.

Storm taunts a front row fan; Roode sends him into the barricade. Storm backs the official into the corner before connecting with a low blow. He drops Roode with a reverse DDT before using the middle rope for a choke.

Storm applies a rear-naked choke as the clock begins counting down from five minutes. Roode breaks the hold and swings through a couple of rights and a kick followed by a spinebuster! Storm’s out, but caught with a diving neckbreaker and two-count!

Storm connects with a hurricanrana! Then he scores with a facebreaker and backstabber for a near-fall. Frustrated, Storm grabs a steel chair from ringside and argues with the official. Roode takes the chair; he and the official argue. Storm grabs his cowbell and delivers a clubbing blow for a near-fall!

Roode drops out of the Eye of the Storm and delivers the Pay Off for the win.
