iMPACT Going Live? Secondary Show?

Dave Meltzer is reporting that iMPACT! may start going live every other week as soon as March. If this does happen the tapings will be moved to Thursday and Friday.

Meltzer also reports that Spike TV is interested in airing a secondary TNA show that focuses only on the Knockouts. The show would air matches, photo shoots, interviews and more. It would most likely air on Saturday night's.

Pretty cool stuff here. I love the idea of going live, but if they start doing that, they need to move out of the iMPACT zone....Immediately.

I love the idea of the knockout's show as well. More time for Talia Madison :bleh:

I kind of hope it doesn't start going live. A lot of the stars went to TNA because they hated being on the road 5 or 6 days of the week. If they now have just as hectic a travel schedule, but for less pay, they'll just go to WWE.

^Exactly what I was thinking. TNA starting to do house shows and going live is basically what WWE does and everyone goes there for a lighter schedule and if they're not getting that then why go? However I think TNA is realizing that if they want to compete with Raw they are going to have to go live, move out of the impactzone, and do house shows. I'll be curious to see how this develops.

iMPACT! going live would be the best thing for the show right now imo. My head hurts after every iMPACT! because of all the stupid editing. Seriously, the crowd sounds 50x louder on iMPACT! than they do on PPVs. Also, the intos to iMPACT! are sometimes intros from like 6 monthes ago, so it makes it feel even more edited. If iMPACT! goes live then we can say goodbye to the fake crowd, goodbye to the piped in chants, and also, goodbye to the re-used intros, so I am definately praying that this report is true lol

I think the secondary show should be called "The X Show" and it should be all about the X-Division. This way the X-Division will be considered even more important, and it gives time for the wrestlers to show off their talent

Yes, they definately need to do some. Let's just hope they have some sense and don't do more than required, like WWE tends to.

Agreed, Impact going live would be GREAT. And an X-Divsion would also be great, i'm a fan of the X-Division, and i would deffently watch a show that focuses on it.

There has never, and will never be a successful television show with all women and no men. The very reason women were introduced into professional wrestling in the first place was because there was some variety needed in the program. This is going the exact opposite way and it is bound to fail they attempt it.

Knockout show is very original, that's a good idea, like all of those crazy Women's Wrestling feds, but it would still be part of TNA, that ain't bad, any chance they can put Angel Williams on TV more I will watch...

TNA going live every other week is no different then when Raw used to be live every other week. There schedule was still very light. I don't see this being a huge turn off to TNA stars who don't want to travel as much, however I already have said many times, anyone who thinks TNA is not going to eventually have a simalar and or as hectic schedule as the WWE is fooling themselves. TNA already is trying to do more PPV's on the road, the double show, live, more house shows, its all a matter of time. TNA fans should be happy because its the steps in the right direction to becoming the major force that the WWE is, but they aren't happy. The complain about it. Because they realize it means admitting the WWE is sucsessful, which they don't want to do.

As for an all Knockouts show, its hardly an original thought. WOW Women of Wrestling was not all Tits and Ass. They had women of all shapes, sizes and although there skill levels for the most part were no where the level of say a Gail Kim, it still tanked faster then the XFL. TNA Knockouts show? Won't last. Give them time it will be just a second show in no time as Smackdown is to Raw.

I don't think Impact should go live. I hate to say it, but their camera crew sucks ass. If you go live, then they cannot cut out the mistakes that they are doing. The editing is what helps make Impact a normal show. They should hire better crew before going live. Raw's crews are the best in the wrestling industry. You can't compare them with the NFL's and NBA's since the sports have a stand for their cameras most of the time. Look at the cameramen around ringside. When they are the one filming, you rarely see it wobble. It isn't easy to do that, and Impact's cameramen haven't mastered that yet, so I don't think going live would be a good idea. It'll make Impact look bad.
