I must say the way Randy Orton's match with Batista ended was disappointing at best. Randy's last reign was the snake like cheating type of retaining, which was fun then, but I think with this reign they should have gone with outsmarting or outright winning. When Randy said "Count me out!" I thought for sure he was going to lead Batista around and then slither back into the ring and beat the count before Batista. But they went with the stupid slap the ref angle and then brought Flair, who should stay retired, back. I was kind of pissed. Thoughts?

Thats what heels do, especially when they are going up against other main eventers.

I realize that, but I still think a sly outsmarting thing would have been better. Heelish, but still not lame.

It was a sly move though, when he slapped the ref. More heels should do shit like that.

There is no reason for a heel not to get himself DQed when he is champ until the WWE includes a stiplution.

Actually, he did outsmarted Batista, seeing how instead of trying to "outwrestle him" and go for a clean win, he forced the rules into a point where even though the referee knew Orton's intentions, he had no other choice but to make the call.

Dude, when is the last time we saw an intentional attack on a referee (not special guest) in the WWE!?

That was classic.

I wanted to see him bait Batista into the ring and punt his head off when he slid in, but I like this angle. I'ma give this one some time to play out now.

Yes. 2008. Wasn't long ago. Which is why it bores me. I loved the angle the first time they did it with Randy. I thought they made him out to be a genius, sly SOB. But this time the way they did it just made him look like a coward. Hopefully he cuts an awesome promo tomorrow and soothes the sting a little bit.

On a side note, did anyone else find Jericho's newest insult as hilarious as I did? Hypocrites and sycophants, okay, yeah, yawn. But gellatinous tapeworms? That's a new one I intend to use on someone very soon. "Listen here you disease-ridden gellatinous tapeworm of a human being!" Classic.

Nah, I liked the end. As I said in the Judgment Day review, it worked perfectly. First, it made Orton look like a comlete ass, which, in case you didn't notice, is what he's supposed to do. Secondly, it leads to alot of speculation. Will Batista turn heel? Will Triple H return and turn heel? How long will Flair be around? Who will get the title shot? Will HBK join Batista and Flair at all?
Sure, it let down a bit for tonight, but it sets up better for the future. I prefer that, seeing as the rest of the PPV, other than Cena/Big Show, was very good.

That end was the only good part of the match. Otherwise it was a snoozefest.

I thought the whole damn PPV was a snoozefest. I think Randy's storyline would have worked better if they had him take out Batista tonight, and then completely dominate in one way or another whoever stepped up until December or so, when it was time for Teddy to make his face turn. Then you'd have Randy begin to cheat to win just to hang on to the title a little longer before he finally goes down. That's good television.

I do understand where all you guys are coming from though. It's just been done before. And I like your way of looking at it, Rated R CMStar. We shall see what unfolds on RAW. :)

Upon thinking about it...I retract my previous complaints. The prospect of HHH coming back and joining Batista and Flair and setting up a possible Legacy vs. Evolution match is gold.

OmGZZZZ....OR...Dx-VolutSHUN vs. LEGACY!!!
Ugh, I dunno. I feel like I'm watching two little kids play with their wrestling figures and coming up with one ridiculous scenario after another. As I've said a bunch of times, this feud really is a revolving door of shit and I really don't see it ending any time soon. So far, just about every PPV match has had some bogus as hell ending followed by even more assinine shit on RAW every week.
I'm sure it'll come down to HBK giving Flair is blessing to beat Orton's ass and blah blah blah.
I swear, if Jericho doesn't walk down to the ring and slap Flair again I'll be dissapointed.

@ the original post. Randy still is cheating to win. What would you call that crap he pulled last night? Sure, he got DQ'ed...but he walked out as champion.
And yeah... Randy did the same shit last year..how could you not remember that?

I love it. For once we have a heel who isn't a complete idiot.

:n: @ Flair though
