That brand split is mostly the reason why the shows aren't as good as they used to be. It's even worse for RAW due to the 3 hours of programming every Monday night, Smackdown is easier to sit through because it's shorter. But it's hard to watch because of the fact that the roster is cut in half and the wrestlers have the same matches every week. You had the same feuds even before the brand split but they were on the same shows, so that meant you actually had to watch both RAW and Smackdown otherwise you'd miss a large chunk of the storyline. Now it's just one show per week with the shows being promoted as two separate entities. I liked it when I had to watch both shows when everybody fought for the same thing : A championship belt or an ongoing feud which intertwined with the entire WWE brand and not just one or the other.
