I Only Have One Rule

This is somewhat of a forum game, but not quite so I am sticking it here.
Basically say "I only have one rule" followed by a lesson you personally learned.

For example "I only have one rule... Never go skinny dipping during shark season."

It can be as short or as long and detailed as you wish but it MUST pertain to something that happened to you.

As depressing and pessimistic as it is, my one rule is to never trust anyone 100%. You never know when even your best-est bud might take the opportunity to stab you in the back if he or she finds there's something to gain from it.
