Ok, its like this.

I was on some wrestling website looking at news and stuff, then my PC got attacked by some virus. I think its spyware or something, I get pop ups (some of them for porn) and sometimes there are so many that my computer just freezes. It all started when my PC kept warning me about a "virus" that I never had so when I click on the warning it tells me to buy some antivirus sofware.

Anyway, the bottom line is...I need help. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Any programs I can download? ANYTHING?

Bring it to your closest computer repair shop and have them install Panda Antivirus software. It is expensive as hell, and the only reason I reccomend a computer guy to do it is because he has the right stuff to make your computer work without it freezing. After you get Panda, run a shit load of scans and you will get rid of it. Panda Antivirus is amazing and will clear up your computer of everything. Its about 65 bucks, I believe.

wow.... sucks... got the thing for you to do ok

I had this problem, and so did my best friend... and MikeRaw and I fixed both of our computers... heres what you do in 10 easy steps that I learned ok:

1. Go to control panel and delete ALLLLLLL of the virus and spyware programs you have in there... ALL of them

2. Restart your computer

3. Go to avg.com and download the program

4. Run the program after the download

5. Click Update Now to get it up to date, and then change some settings to your liking for like scans and shit

6. Do a COMPLETE scan.... not a few files... a COMPLETE scan. It might take between 20-40 mins, but trust me, its a god

7. After its done, or during the scan, you'll notice you'll have a fuckload of trojan viruses, so then let it finish scanning. If it has found viruses to be healed, do so

8. Restart your computer once again

9. Your computer should be running 20x faster, and no viruses shall show up

10. Your AVG 8.0 will most likely expire in 30 days (it says the expiration in the bottom left)... 2-3 days before it expires, delete/uninstall the program from control panel, and redownload it avg.com to give you a full year (its like a weird hack I encountered) Also, have AVG do a scan at about 12:00pm everyday, its very helpful

There ya go chessarmy... trust me on this cause I had to fix 4 peoples computers/laptops due to porn and other random viruses that randomly occurred... including MY laptop, and now ALL of our computers work like a fucking CHARM

TRUST ME and GOOD LUCK!!! Ask MikeRaw if you dont believe this works

people should really start using firefox 3.0 with the no script add on.

when allowing no scripts, its pretty impossible to catch a virus, trust me.

Ha, I made a thread on this the other day. Same problem. Do what wordlife says, it dfixed mine.
But ya, a fake antivirus thing keeps popping up, getting you to go there, but it just gives you a worse virus.

I assure you this works. =]
You realize MALWARE (not maleware) is viruses AND spyware (and anything else that can harm your computer), right? It's no new malicious term.

As for the problem, if AVG doesn't work, then definitely run the Kaspersky trial, or just reformat.

Oppps lol. Well all I was trying to say is when I ran that Malewarebytes program it fixed my computer and stopped the fake virus thing and that was only like a week ago. So I knew it worked.

I support getting Malware Bytes Anti-Malware or Kaspersky. Either will prolly remove the infection.

Panda is pretty well shit. Its bloated and its detection is mediocre.
And AVG is doing better but I've still seen it let some pretty mean ones through and then has problems completely removing them.

If you install Kaspersky make sure you remove your regular anti-virus program. MBAM will install fine with an anti-virus though.

What AV are you using anyway I should have asked that first.

Whichever you decide to use make sure you run it from Safe Mode to ensure that the shitware isn't running when you're trying to remove it.

My dad bought Norton for the computer, and that actually during installation goes through and deletes all the other programs. Excellent antivirus program, but AVG would have to be up there as well.

^ Norton pretty much pwns, I haven't had a virus at all since using it, so it gets my reccomendation.
