As the title says. As fun as it is to see Rock, Austin, HBK,Goldberg etc turn up every now and then there is 1 problem with it.
They are burying/not developing new talent. Goldberd vs Lesnar at least involves 2 part timers but it also takes the spotlight off the up and comers.
Put simply I would use them to put over new talent but not job them out. The part timer can win a few matches but at the conclusion of the feud they put over someone new.
OR
You can use them to enhance the existing talent such as Rhyno+Slater or have them involved as managers.
On could also recycle a gimmick with a new twist on the females. You do not want to get to copycat on with male stars.
For example. Charlotte defeats Baily (or whoever), beats her up a bit grabs a chair and goes for the chair shot to the head. Lights go out, gong sounds and Undertaker (+ Kane?) come out distract Charlotte and carry her off. Baily (or whoever) can be seen calling him father. As a follow up it is revealed that when the house burned down there was a baby as well as the Brothers of Destruction and she is now in the WWE. He they could have 2 and have the sisters of destruction to carry on that storyline once UT/Kane are gone. Said female wrestler is rechristened The Banshee or something.
Theme music. Gong sounds, redone version of this.
They did the 4 horsewomen of NXT. Once could also have things like female NWO or DX.
For male wrestlers the part timers can have an apprentice or tag partner. The idea is to use them to help get someone new over not to different from the Attitude Era where new arrivals were thrown into the ring with DX/HHH/The Rock etc.
The streak for example should not have been broken by Lesnar but a slow build to it over a year or so while the chosen one during that year gets a decent push.
