How do you rip vids?

I'm doing this project for school where I have to make a 5+ minute movie maker presentation. My theme will either be about sports or music, I haven't decided which yet. I'm going to need music, lyrics, pics, and vids, and I can do all of them except the vids. Can someone help me with how to rip a YT vid to put into movie maker?

I usally use http://keepvid.com/ to download it to my computer.

Then you would need a video converter to change the FLV format, I suggest eright SUPER cause it can convert it to just sound (mp3) and avi for vids, and lots of other formats you may need. Just one way, Im sure theres more.

Ahhh, I know about keepvid. So after having the FLV version of the vid, I just need to convert it to AVI format? And then after that I can drag it into Moviemaker and clip whatever part of the vid I want?

I dont use Movie maker alot tbh, But if it excepts AVI then yes. but w/e it excepts convert it to that then open/drag it.

I do the exact same thing, keepvid but I use Total Video Converter. That could convert a lesbian to straight chick you know.

I'm sure they convert your YouTube videos into any format, but watch out for WMV's though since they can get a little choppy loading on Windows Media Player.

Peep don't listen to anyone else. Lmao. Tubehunter is by far the best it's what I use for my Ipod, to get movies, ext. It will download and convert to anything. I probably still have a key gen if you want to download it. Take my word it's the best otu tehre.

Ok, I got the video I wanted and converted the file from flv. to avi. and opened it in Movie Maker and there's like 15 different parts to the vid. They all have the sound in it, but none of the parts have any video on it accept the first part. I want the whole part in video, but no sound. Any help plz?

Whats the video I could try downloading it and cutting the sound for you. Cuase the program I use is REALY good.

To get the sound out the video all you gotta do is go to the top to clip go to audio and then mute and it will mute the sounds in the clips and then add your music and BAM it works.
