How decent is Wanyama?

The one league I have watched less and less over the years is the SPL. It clashes with the BPL most of the time, and the style of football doesn't appeal to me (sorry Ryan). Apparently Motherwell player Nicky Law is a huge Manchester United fan and has requested SAF to sign who he thinks is the best midfielder in the SPL in Victor Wanyama, how good is he? I have obviously seen him play, but it would be ignorant of me to cast an opinion on a potential move based off a handful of games.
