Why can't they give us a show like this on Friday night? This looks awesome!
They're giving Seth Rollins IC title matches, with plenty of buildup beforehand, and a sort-of show of respect after the match? WWE must be extremely high on the former Tyler Black. Watch his Ironman match with Dean Ambrose if you haven't already.
And rumor has it, WWE would call him up if they had a way to fit him into a storyline.
1. The Great Khali defeated Jinder Mahal. Nice pop for Khali, some heat for Jinder. An okay match. Khali dominated the first half the Jinder dominated the second half. Khali made his comeback and won with his double choke slam.
Danial Bryan cut a video promo on how he walked into the building and is walking out the champion.
2. Natalya and Beth Phoenix beat Alicia Fox and Tamina. Natty and Beth got the bigger pop. Natty is a heel for this match. Alicia reversed the Glam Slam and sent Beth out of the ring. Not a bad Diva match. Tamina went for the Superfly splash on Beth and missed. Beth Glam Slammed her for the pin.
3. Hunaco and Camacho over Jimmy and Jey Uso. Back and forth at first and then Hunico and Camacho dominated. The Uso's made a comeback but Hunico and Camacho used a double team slam and Hunico won with a Swanton off the ropes. Cody Rhodes did a run in and gave a CrossRhodes to the other Uso, then cut a promo about taking out the trash. He said Smackdown is his house and how's he's going to beat The Big Show at WrestleMania.
4. Sheamus defeated Mark Henry in a street fight. Mark cut a promo for people to stop cheering him because he's the bad guy. Scott Hall would be proud. Sheamus got a big pop. This was a fans' choice match and the options were best of three falls or a street fight. Street fight won. Go figure. I liked Sheamus better as a heel. His attempt at comedy during the match wasn't that funny. At least Mark got to play a monster in this match and not job out like on TV lately.
Good back and forth match. It stayed mostly in the ring. Sheamus pulled two chairs and kendo sticks from under the ring and both men used them during the match. Daniel Bryan ran in and hit Sheamus from behind with the title belt. Mark went for the pin but Sheamus kicked out. The finish came when Shemus ducked a chair shot and and hit The Brogue Kick off the ropes for the win.
Randy Orton cut a video promo about the triple threat title match for tonight. Basically, everyone falls to the RKO.
Intermission.
5. Justin Gabriel beat Drew McIntyre. Drew cut a promo telling people to hurry up and get back from the concession stands and how it's the start of a winning streak after beating that monster Hornswoggle on Smackdown. Not much of a pop for Gabrel. Another good back and forth match. Justin won with a 450 splash off the top rope after he reversed attempt of a top rope superplex by Drew. Cody ran in a gave Justin a CrossRhodes from behind.
Cody cut a promo about opportunity and how great he is. He really got the crowd fired up. Seth Rollins (a/k/a) Tyler Black interrupted Cody and said he wanted a match for the Intercontinental Title. Good promos by both men.
6. Cody Rhodes beat Seth Rollins to retain the Intercontinental Championship. The match started out back and forth and then Cody dominated. Tyler made a comeback the Cody made his. The finish came when Cody went for his Beautiful Disaster kick off the ropes and Tyler turned it into a powerbomb. Cody hit CrossRhodes for the win. Seth sold being hurt and officials came out from the back. Cody picked up Tyler and raised his hand a gave him another CrossRhodes.
7. Daniel Bryan defeated Big Show and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Nice heat for Bryan. Big pop for Show and Orton. Bryan is tiny compared to Show and Orton, whom took turns working over Bryan. Then it turned into the usual triple threat - one guy sold being hurt while the others worked each other.
The finish came when Cody ran down to the ring and distracted Show. Orton hit Show with an RKO. Bryan threw Randy into the post and then pinned Show for the win. He then ran to the back, but Sheamus brought him back to the ring for a RKO. Randy left and then Show came to and chokeslamed Bryan. Show left, leaving Bryan to sell being knockout in the ring. He finally came to, got his belt, and staggered to the back. One thing I noticed was Sheamus limping up the ramp after he threw Bryan back into the ring. I don't know if he was selling or not.
