Well...its the second biggest event on the WWE calender...and I've decided
to write up a piece going over my thoughts, tips and fantasy booking ideas
for SummerSlam 2017...
But first...to get you in the mood for a summer of fun...enjoy this music
track featuring a group of incredibly cute women singing and dancing.
Okay...now hopefully that track has cheered you up...because something is
telling me I may get a little...negative with this article.
Well...let's get this started with...
Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins for the RAW tag team titles:
So I'm a big fan of 3 of these guys (sorry Sheamus) but this will no doubt be a
solid to great match...depending on how much time they get.
Rumor: Sheamus will be taking some time off to film a movie soon...so don't be
surprised if 2 thirds of the Shield win the titles.
What I'd Like To See: Dean & Seth as the new champions.
What will happen: Honestly...who knows? Cesaro & Sheamus may retain at SummerSlam
only for Dean & Seth to win the titles on RAW in a main event rematch.
John Cena vs. Baron Corbin:
Well...Corbin was just booked as the biggest moron on the roster and failed in his
attempt to cash in in moronic fashion. Even if Corbin does defeat Cena...is doesn't
change the fact that Corbin is a moron and failed in the worst possible way.
Rumor: The WWE has recently lost faith in Corbin and that's the reason why they
wasted his MitB contract. The other rumor is John Cena will be moving to RAW after
this event.
What I'd Like To See: I honestly don't care...because Corbin is a moron now.
What will happen: Cena goes over clean and Corbin gets drafted back to NXT with
Aleister Black taking his place on the main roster as "Scary Tattooed Wrestler
with a Metal theme"
Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt:
Well...we just saw this match on RAW...with Bray winning and adding a dash of red
to the match. Wyatt has been booked strongly since Extreme Rules with Balor doing
nothing of note since his return.
Rumor: Bray is only being "built up" so he can be fed to whoever has the Universal
title after SummerSlam.
What I'd Like To See: The returning Demon King getting a win and not getting injured
in the process (Remember last year?).
What will happen: Who knows? Either way one of my favorites has to lose...
Big Cass vs. Big Show (With Enzo in a Shark cage):
I just want it to be over.
Rumor: Enzo will turn on Show and reunite with Cass as a heel tag team and move into
a feud with new Champions Dean & Seth.
What I'd Like To See: Cass go over clean and move on from this feud. I'd also like
to see Cass kick Ellsworth in the face...several times.
What will happen: Again...who knows? As long as the feud ends.
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos for the SmackDown tag team titles:
Well...the matches have been fantastic (besides the finish at MitB) and both teams
have really hit another level recently. While I would like to see Big E on his own
you can't deny that New Day does indeed rock.
Rumor: I haven't heard one...you got any?
What I'd Like To See: The New Day retain...but who knows who they'll feud with next.
What will happen: Again...who knows?
Randy Orton vs. Rusev:
Well...I think we all know how this is going to end.
Rumor: N/A
What I'd Like To See: Rusev win clean...
What will happen: RKO and Rusev continues to be buried for having a hot wife.
A.J Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the United States title with Shane McMahon as the special guest referee:
Look...all I want is a great match. I just want Styles and Owens to go out there and
put on the best possible match they can to show everyone how good they both are. This
match didn't need Shane involved...but I'm not part of the WWE creative team.
Rumor: N/A
What I'd Like To See: A 4 star match with no bullshit and a clean finish.
What will happen: You tell me...
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE World title:
Well...because Corbin is a moron this match is a lot more cut and dry. I guessing that
Nakamura may be getting a run with the top belt...and it can't be any worse than what
Jinder has done since being champion.
Rumor: Corbin is a moron...
What I'd Like To See: Nakamura going over clean...
What will happen: No idea...
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks for the RAW women's title:
I'm sick of Alexa Bliss and Sasha deserves a proper run with the title. I will admit I
will be pissed if Alexa retains...especially if its another count win for Sasha. Of
course knowing the WWE Alexa will go over clean and continue her tradition of burying
the horsewomen.
Rumor: Sasha & Alexa really do hate each other...which I'm cool with...makes the match
seem more "real"
What I'd Like To See: Sasha win the title cleanly...or...my booking swerve idea and
have Carmella cash in during this match, steal the title, moves to RAW, finally
ditches Ellsworth and she is paired up with heel Cass.
Oh...and Emma moves to SmackDown to replace her.
What will happen: Alexa hits a DDT after 5 minutes and pins Sasha cleanly...because
fuck what the fans want.
Naomi (c) vs. Natalya for the SmackDown women's title:
Okay...so I have to be honest and state that Naomi hasn't really impressed me as a
Champion...and I honestly think Carmella isn't ready to be a champion at this tine...
so I think its time Nattie had her moment and won the SmackDown women's title...and
was given more than a 5 minute reign as champion.
Rumor: With Corbin being a moron it appears highly likely that Carmella will be
cashing in at SummerSlam...but as the WWE showed us on Tuesday...a MitB contract
is not a sure thing.
What I'd Like To See: Natalya wins cleanly and gets to keep the title for 6 months or more.
What will happen: No matter who wins the actual match...you would have to think
Carmella is going to cash in...and unless the WWE pulls a swerve and Carmella goes
for the RAW title...the night will have a rough ending for Naomi or Natalya.
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos for the SmackDown tag team titles:
A fantastic match at MitB (bar the finish) and the highlight of the Battleground pay
per view...and I'm sure these two teams will provide another great match is given
enough time.
Rumor: This one is pretty straight forward...
What I'd Like To See: Another great tag team match.
What will happen: Another great tag team match (Fingers crossed)
Akira Tozawa (c) vs. Neville for the Cruiserweight title:
Well...I don't think Neville should have lost the title...and I don't think he should
have lost it on RAW...but that's just my opinion.
Rumor: You heard any?
What I'd Like To See: Neville regaining the cruiserweight title.
What will happen: Tozawa retains in a short pre-show rematch.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal title:
Well...why don't we play a drinking game for with this one...
Every time Brock hits a suplex or F-5...take a drink...
Every time Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch or hits a Uranage...take a drink...
Every time Braun roars or hits his running powerslam...take a drink...

Every time Reigns hits a superman punch or a spear...take a drink...
Rumor: Lesnar is leaving to fight in the UFC again...and Lesnar is staying in the WWE
What I'd Like To See: Samoa Joe or Braun Strowman as the new Universal champion
and Lesnar & Heyman gone.
What will happen: Reigns takes a finisher from everyone then gets up like its nothing
and spears someone and gets the pin.

I have to be honest and say that this SummerSlam card doesn't look as bloated as last
years...but...I do have some complaints.
~ No Charlotte...(I understand why...but I'm still disappointed. Get well soon Ric)
~ No Becky Lynch...
~ No Intercontinental title match...(Does anyone in the company care about that belt?)
~ No Hardy Boyz...Oh wait...hang on a second...
But...I like the fact its a card featuring 9 singles matches...allowing those involved
a better chance to shine.

Hey...they just added another match for the SummerSlam kickoff show...
The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan vs. The Miz, Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas:
I honestly would have rather seen The Miz vs. Jason Jordan for the IC title...but what
do I know. I also want to state it sucks the Revival are out again.
Rumor: A stalled push of Jason Jordan and an injury to the Revival basically gave birth
to this match.
What I'd Like To See: Maryse in a sexy outfit...
What will happen: Does anyone care?
Well...that's how SummerSlam is shaping up for me personally...and at the end of day...
I just hope it plays out better than the event did last year.
Although the crowd won't spend all of its time shitting on a newly introduced title belt
this year...so that is already going to be an improvement.
I guess you can post your own thoughts & opinions if you want...but if not...I just hope you
personally enjoy SummerSlam.
